When will the next gamer tag release be?

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have an issue with release of gamer tag. Unfortunately, no one can just release a gamer tag. Microsoft is able to and they usually do it in masses. The last one was over 1 million gamer tags. So if
it isn't available you would have to wait until it is released. There is no time frame as to when the next one will be. As the last one was the first release and that took over 10 years.

Sometimes when gamer tags have not been used or been changed Microsoft needs to release these. Not sure if you remember about 3-4 years ago, Microsoft released over one million unused gamer tags back into the system. You will have to wait until Microsoft
does this again. There is no telling when this will happen. That was the first one that they did so it took 14 years to do one release.

2021 would be the next release since the new policy was put in place in 2016. The last release was done one 2016 and was not the first one.

MS releases gamer tags in waves. There's no way to tell when the tag will become available. I can only advise to try everyday.

Wait, so they maybe releasing gamer tags on the 31st of august? Because i heard it was on the 30th and that the earliest gamer tags will be released was on that day.

When you press the Xbox home button on your controller and scroll to the profile & system, next to your gamer tag does it say “Ultimate” next to your tag?
