    When will Teredo be replaced by ipv6?


    Hey,

    I am currently unable to play "Forza Horizon 4" online (70 Euros for half the game) due to server connectivity issues.

    I properly installed Teredo and forwarded all necessary ports but it still doesn't work...

    The problem?

    My ISP fully supports ipv6 and so does my router. The only problem is that the Xbox app doesn't "accept" ipv6, it only uses Teredo.

    Buuuuut: my ISP blocked Teredo since it's normally not necessary if you use ipv6 and since it is a pretty big security issue.

    So, now I am sitting here with half a game for the full price, a lot of frustration, and server connectivity issues.

    When will I be able to replace Teredo with IPv6 in the Xbox software?

    Xbox One: Can't get a teredo IP address>Your network is behind a firewall(or not connected)

    As this is a problem with your router / modem settings or with your ISP this is nothing you will have your console replaced for. Please phone your ISP to ask if they block Teredo tunneling and/or check your router's manual for disabling of an eventually
    Teredo filter.

    I can't install teredo tunneling adapter

    I can't use Teredo adptater :"Teredo is unable to qualify" when i go to :

    -Device manager

    -Show hidden devices

    -network adapter

    The Teredo Tunneling Adapte is not here and when i try to add the device manually :

    -Add legacy hardware

    -Network adapters

    -Microsoft

    The Teredo Tunneling adapter is not here.

    How can i add it?

    Windows 10 PC and all Xbox Ones already fully support IPv6 but several home routers support IPv6 but disable it by default. Check the manual for your router, or visit our
    Networking Hardware Information support forum. Or, try contacting your ISP to see if IPv6 is available in your area.

    Same question here.

    I love my Xbox and the "ipv6 support".

    But the required tunneling over ipv4 via teredo is pathetic.

    I am on a native ipv6 network. To use party chat I have to leave my ipv6 network and use a virtual ipv4 address, just to use teredo to join the ipv6 network again.

    Microsoft; when is native ipv6 support planned for the Xbox one?

    Yet another "Teredo is unable to qualify" + "Server Connectivity Blocked" post.

    Hm I see. So is the "Teredo is unable to qualify" directly related to Strict NAT ? 'Cause I've never seen anyone make this connection, but also after I change my "Teredo Client" to "Enterprise" through a CMD command, it never show me "Teredo is unable to qualify" and instead of that it is now show me I have Strict NAT.

    Also this all related to IPv6 in any way? 'Cause I tried some tests online and I don't have an IPv6. And I read somewhere some that only specific games use Teredo and I think I also read that Teredo uses IPv6 to connect to them, which would make sense why I can't play online in them. And another thing I read was "4in6 tunneling" that helps you get IPv6.

    So should I ask about what's happening and I don't get IPv6 and if we can create that tunneling?
    It is related to IPV6, yes, but not in the way you think. When you are unable to connect to IPV6 (a lot of ISPs worldwide do not offer IPV6...mine doesn't), the Toredo Tunneling Protocol basically allows you to have IPV6 connectivity via your older IPV4 connection. It was initially intended as a temporary measure but has become longer term due to slow roll out of IPV6 and means that those on the older IPV4 can still connect and game on anything based on IPV6 (in theory at least)

    So does that mean if I manage to get IPv6 (outright or through that 4in6 tunneling) then I wouldn't need Teredo? Or am I understanding this wrong? I feel like Strict NAT and Teredo/IPv6 are different issues at this point. And Teredo/IPv6 is the bigger problem since it doesn't let me play certain games online At All. And fixing Strict NAT is like a luxury or something.

    I would like to edit this to say IPv6 should be enabled to bypass use need of Teredo. Anyways, this will probably disappear to nowhere.

    TLDR: Enable IPv6 first instead of trying other suggestions for Teredo error.
