When will NZ get voice commands????

The new update... Oh dear.

When voice commands was barred in NZ, I use to change my locale to Australia temporarily to try it. I know several NZ people did this too. When they rolled out English (select your country) option, NZ people can now select NZ locale and English (Australia)
as still use voice commands for NZ locale. There is only like a 2 hour time difference between NZ and Australia. Cortana should be better, perhaps in like 2 years from now or so. Because it is no where near as good as google now on my Samsung S5 phone nor
siri. It's like it's reading off a script, just like when you contact Xbox Support by phone the way they end and start a call. Ouch.

 

VOICE COMMANDS

Xbox 1 has only been out for 4 months. Be happy you even have at least some voice commands. Voice commands is locked out for NZ locale unless those of us in NZ change our locale under settings to Australia (should be easily done since Xbox 1 is region free
I've tried it once then changed it back and wow this amazing world of voice commands but switched it back so that my console wouldn't get confused if I lived in NZ or Australia). Australia is only about 2 hours behind NZ and I've done it once and wow it works
OK. I'm sure there will be future updates and M really needs to make it for NZ locale. None of this dialects/accent stuff. English is English. Even UK and Australian accents perhaps can be tricky for voice command software. NZ'rs aren't that much different

I'm sure it'll come as soon as MS is done working out all of the kinks. Just be patient and it will come all in good time...

 

I call it the only English common-wealth country with Xbox Live that doesn't have it. But NZ'rs can simply change your locale to Australia locale and try it out. (Australia is only 2 hours behind NZ time wise and since Xbox 1 is region free) I did at the
start of this year only changed it temporarily for like 30 minutes to Australia and wow Xbox 1 has voice commands unlocked. Even Australian and UK accents/dialects can be tricky. English is English. Americans often think Australians and NZ'rs sound British.
Even for locales where it has released peps have reported probs using certain voice commands. Just because voice commands aren't perfect hasn't stopped M from already releasing it for US/UK/AUS. So they should just release it for NZ asap. If it hasn't released
by 2015 I would prob start to question them but since Xbox 1 is fairly new (5 months into ~) I'll let it pass. As long as they don't update the UI to prevent us from temporarily changing our locale setting to Australia to give it a try, and it worked for me
in January, you should be able to experience it.

 

It will come when its done and accurate I would imagine. I can't see them holding it back for any other reason other than, its just not done yet or needs perfecting
