    When will 3D Blu-Rays be playable on Series X?


    It turns out that Microsoft has dropped 3D Blu-Ray compatibility from Xbox Series X.

    Not at all happy about this. When I upgrade my console to the flagship model I expect improvements, not to lose functions I already had.

    Many of us still have 3D blu-rays we enjoy and want to be able to play.

    This loss of 3D function was not exactly widely advertised.

    This is purely a software issue.

    Will Microsoft sort this out? If so, when?

    3D Blu Ray playback On Series X

    To be fair, on the Xbox Series X official page, there is no mention of 3D so it can't be expected:

    "Optical Drive. 4K UHD Blu-Ray"

    As to not having a state of the art player, not surprised there either....a £450 ($500) console is not expected to have a blu-ray player that would cost probably £200 standalone

    Why not buy a 3D blu-ray player its not like they cost much and the Xbox One uses software for Blu-ray playback unlike proper Blu-ray players.
