    When to turn off XBOX ONE after factory reset


    I might sell my XBOX ONE and when I do, I want to reset it, so the new owner can't use my account. I've watched some clips to see how to do it and I see that after you reset the XBOX, it restarts and you have to install it (choose
    language, time zone, account enz.). I don't want to do this, because that's something the new owner should do (if I sell my console).

    So, I want to remove my data from the XBOX, but I don't want to install it again. When can I turn off my XBOX? Is it OK to turn it off when you can do the first installation steps.

    I hope you can help me!

    I’ve been extremely shafted by Xbox and Microsoft

    So about a day ago, my Xbox broke. I was playing it about 4am, when I reset it because it wouldn’t let me buy anything from the Microsoft store, after the reset, I got an error code e200, it wouldn’t work no matter what so I attempted to factory reset it
    and then it just stopped working. It turns on then turns off immediately after a few seconds.

    Hi Barney Gumble,

    So you shouldn't have to do it that often. Basically when you use instant turn on, you're not ever shutting your Xbox off completely and just putting it to sleep. So it's not very common.

    I tried this too and nothing. It wouldn't let me set up the Xbox afterwards because it needed that update. Before I factory reseted it, it had 3 options. "Update" "play offline" and "turn off console." After the factory reset I was then stuck on the setup with only two options "update" and "turn off console." When I tried to update my console refused to turn on again like it was doing before

    If it's still the same, try to do a physical power cycle

    "Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

    Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

    Plug the console power cable back in.
    Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on."

    If in the end you see that the update does not continue to progress. Try to free up space on your PC (at least 8GB) and perform the offline update
