When to expect 3D Blu-ray and Dolby Digital support/patches?

The big issue is just not there is no 3D support for the drive, its the omission of letting it pass thru the HDMI. I have direct TV, which has PPV channels and regular channels that are 3D. I embraced the notion of an all in one console, so seeing as though
3D doesn't pass through leaving my premium and subscription channels useless is just wrong. For now 3D movies I use my Panasonic drive, and although that isn't right this far into the game, it does work. but to render my Direct TV channels useless is truly
unforgivable.

I have waited to buy a next gen console and I know several people like myself are waiting for 3D to be implemented. This should have been in at launch and definitely should be added by now. Dont let Sony beat you to this update.

Also very looking forward to 3d Blu-ray support. It's hard to believe that the PS3 can handle it but the Xbox One can't. Maybe if people keep posting for it they'll get to it quicker. Here's for hoping.

Just found out the hard way that I can't watch anymore 3D channels because I decided to run my cable box through my Xbox one. THANKS A LOT MICROSOFT

I purchased two PS4 systems in the hopes that they get the 3D support sooner than MS. I can honestly say I prefer the X1 over the PS4. Quieter, cooler, better controller, and MS cust service is overall better. The PS4 support Sony gives is a absolute
joke. I returned two $8,000 TV sets back to sony because their service and quality control were just garbage and out of principle.

July update coming and no mention of 3D support. Really disappointed and frustrated that more than 8 months after release we still don't have what was promised. If anyone hasn't gone and voted for 3D support, go do so!

I'm buying PS4s as it's likely they will do 3D before MS. Kind of my way of tearing down a wall of being locked into one system when they are going to keep stalling. Tired of the wait and be patient line. I like my X1 and think it's got a lot going. But

Lawgone, it wasn't meant to be inflammatory, just factual, if you took it as such, that's not my problem.

Craig, I get what you're saying. They pulled you in with the premise of something and then they opted out of that and it changed the scope of your plans to buy an Xbox One. At that point it probably would have been prudent to get your money back if you
didn't want the system for what it was.

Like it or not, the 30 pages of people talking about this issue are mostly posts from the same people over and over who also happen to be posting up on other threads about the same thing. The length of this thread is in no way any kind of validation when
at the end of the day, you're still the minority. People aren't buying 3D TV's. Period. It was a fad that has started dying out. Hence the reason why they now cost the same as a regular TV and in some cases even less. People don't want them, or in cases
like one of my kids, can't use them.

Is the hardware capable of doing? Sure. Is the necessity there to add the compatibility, not necessarily. But that's just a business minded decision and my own personal opinion. MS could totally decided to add that functionality in the next system update,
but we won't know until it actually happens.

Actually I can tell you it won't be in the next system update, but maybe August.
