When Push Comes to Shovel

^^ So people who love gaming and spend a lot of time and money on their hobby that don't like a particular part about it (ie old retro looking games) has a character flaw? Yeah ok buddy, looks like you're the one trolling. Keep telling yourself that if it
helps you sleep at night. I guess everyone is supposed to love them? Who needs an opinion anyway? Why wouldn't we want these indie devs creating new and exciting content instead of games with simple graphics and gameplay from 20 years ago. If people enjoy
that simplicity, that's great for them, but me, I hate it. I enjoyed them in the late 80's early 90's. I prefer to move ahead with the times.

 

Think you missed my key point, nothing at all wrong with you wanting the new content, me to. Nothing wrong with not liking some of it either, quite a lot I don't like because I don't enjoy it (mainly because I suck at it). Also nothing particularly wrong
with telling people, I don't like this because x, y z" (not really my thing unless I am reviewing stuff and then feedback is constructive and relevant to the specific thing I am commenting on)- But to take the next step and classify an entire genre based
on your view and to say "stop making these types of game", yep, to me that's trolling

So you've never disliked something so much that you want them to stop making it? Or for it to stop? Does it matter that someone else liked what you hated regardless of how bad it might be? You should look up what trolling means because I don't think you
know. If people genuinely hate something than that's not trolling. Stop acting like a smacked butt and trying to call people out for trolling on ridiculous reasoning. I'm nit saying I hate these to troll, I genuinely am sick of them. Sick!

I hate them and I do wish they would stop. I don't care if others love them. I hate them and want them to go away. They are over-saturating the market. When I look for a new game to buy I don't feel like browsing through piles of rubbish. You might like
them, but I don't so to me it's rubbish. When I go buy a new tv I don't feel like sifting through all the old black and white tv's because some people like them. When they start becoming our free games each month like Viking and IDARB and Time Force, than
yeah, I do want them to go away.

Me hating these and saying why is no different than people wishing developers would stop making WWII games or Devs to stop making Call of Duty games. So is that a character flaw? You hate something and it's a flaw? Yeah ok, but we all have a character flaw
in some way shape or form. All of us.

You know I looked at this game on the marketplace last night and I didn't realise he actually uses a shovel! Hahaha.

In case you're wondering how I missed that, GG never puts a written description in his OP and I never click the links so generally have no idea what the game is about. That is my bad though, I might check this game out at sometime for the pure shovel factor,
haha!

 

It's well worth it, DA! Here's a preview of me taking a "leap of faith."

Step 1 - activate magic book.

Step 2 - jump.

Step 3 - avoid pitfalls.

Step 4 - avoid enemies.

Step 5 - avoid lava pots.

Step 6 - get across before magic pages disappear.

Step 7 - grab ladder.

Step 8 - climb ladder to safety.

Step 9 - success!

This is just 1 example of how challenging this game can be - I barely made it across making nearly every mistake in the book (Hey look! Another pun!).

^Haha, you hit all 3 of those falling lava things! Hahaha. The music also reminds me of the days of arcades.

 

What's really great DA is that you can collect hidden music pages around the levels and turn them into a Bard who will pay you 500 gold for each 1. Once you do that, you can listen to any of the tunes you've found - my favorite is the bar-maid; get her to
dance and you'll earn yourself a really cool tune.

 

Brilliant game.

Really good fun.

Even Mrs Azrael's getting addicted.

 

It's probably worth mentioning for all those who downloaded "Volgar" and are thinking to themselves... "No... not again"... this game is nowhere near as Rock Hard as "Volgar".

It doesn't take too long at all to get to grips with the controls and it's the precision of the controls that make this game such a joy to play.

 

I have had some rage moments in this game. I really like it though.

 

Reminds me of Megaman a little. I'm enjoying it. I don't mind if they make games in this retro theme as long as they make good ones. Some leave a little to be desired. This one is an exception.

Also people can have an opinion, leave it at that. Characterizing and attacking people with an opinion doesn't make things better or change anything except the mood of a thread and forum. We need opinions of all kinds and we're all entitled to them. In
all my time on the internet arguing over the details of another's statement has never caused anyone to say "oh I'm wrong, I like everything you like now. Thanks for helping me out" and they shouldn't Just agree to disagree and know that you have at least
gaming and community in common and focus on that instead.
