As you already try most troubleshooting steps I can recommend you couple extra things:

1. Try creating a new partition and install the game there to see if you're able to run it properly

2. Submit a ticket with No Man's Sky support to first double check if you can save your progress on the cloud, second see if they can assist you further on this one due this is happening with this specific game.

3. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts

4. If you're on Windows 11, downgrade to 10 and try again. Or do the opposite case if you're able to upgrade to 11.

5. Perform a clean boot keeping games and files on your actual Windows version, in that way you're going to have a clean installation of windows system.

I made a backup of my save, reinstalled the game and it now works just fine. Thanks for your help! (It has cloud saving)

Also, does anyone know if No Man's sky saves to the cloud on the gamepass version? And how would i make a backup if it is installed on an external drive? The image is all game files i can find on my external drive

How would i go about installing the game on another partition?
