When is Xbox Ones next big announcement coming?

One thing I would like to ask about the PS Now is why does everyone think its going to be the best thing since sliced bread? Sony's network isnt exactly top notch.
Good enough to do what it says on the tin, after all the clamouring for bc on the xo but now Sony have announced it, it is going to be rubbish?? Would love to see the reaction if MS do announce something similar, sure that would be considered the best thing
since sliced bread then!
To some it would be the best thing. To me it would be equal to or greater than sliced bread if MS announced that all arcade purchases as well as GoD purchases would be transferred over

2. Yeah I have over 20 GoD and arcade games. But I have my 360 playing through my xbox one so I can still play them.

3. But if they can get a service like NOW working properly it should be covered by Gold. Not a seperate fee.

This needs to happen. Nintendo needsto get out of the console market, stick to handhelds and selling software. Their IPs would sell on PS and Xbox easily
No, no they don't. Nintendo needs to start focusing on their next console and pull a Sony, make a big deal about how they actually talked to developers and more importantly *Listened* to what makes it easy for them to develop for a console. Have developers
talk about how it was really easy/great to work with Nintendo. THey really need to turn around their rep of Nintendo for Nintendo only games. Either that or not make their console as expensive next time (it's priced way too high for a console that you can
really only play for one publisher's games. Yes, Nintendo has a good rep for their games, but it still means a limited market for your console).

The Wii U was just not a feasable idea. It's too expensive for a console that is pretty much only good for one publisher's games, but the specs are too weak due to adding in that tablet hardware to really compete with the next gen consoles (Even MS made the
One competitive even though they wanted to add some other features to it). Add in that the Wii may have sold a lot but I think it also did a lot of damage to Nintendo cause it really solidified their reputation of having a console that won't get third party
games.

So they need to turn that rep around or realize they have a low price point they have to aim for if they really just want to sell to only Nintendo fans.

Personally I hope they do the try to get more third party games. Mainly cause I don't care for MS, and Sony while their PS is doing well, they aren't doing well. So Nintendo may be my final hope in the future if I want to avoid MS's BS policies (or just stick
with old gen gaming). But I want a console for 3rd party games, not Nintendo games. And if you really want MS to have a monopoly, you have way way way too much faith in any corporation nevermind MS (who has shown they will try to make customers deal with it
if they think they have a de facto monopoly) that they won't take advantage of that and it won't be in your favor.

5. I will add that Nintendo is not near the same position Sony is in or Sega was in when they gave up on consoles. Nintendo can weather a failed console. But if they don't start doing some turning around or rethinking of things, they will end up like Sega where
they might have to do something drastic like pull out of consoles (I think as long as their handhelds do ok though I don't think they have to worry as much about being in Sony's position right now). But they aren't at that point and they have time to turn
things around and stay in the console market. They just need to realize this before it gets to that point.

7. Wii was a fun family oriented gimmick. Kinda like kinect and ps move. The need to go back to controller based games and have wii as a feature like kinect on xbox one.

I may buy a wii because of the cheap price tag. Can It play dvd? Is the movie quality good?

9. Changing the name from Gaikai to Playstation Now doesn't suddenly fix latency issues. Adding 100-300ms of internet latency to 50-150ms of input latency doesn't make for a fun experience. If you're lucky enough to live near a data center or in a town where
fiber has rolled out it may be a mostly viable service. But most of the USA isn't that lucky. Europe has a lot of countries with strong internet infrastructure but the service isn't coming to Europe until sometime in 2015, if they're lucky (if it flops in
the USA, which is possible, I wouldn't count on them investing in global expansion). If you think Sony won't kill an announced feature take a peak at PS3. They killed backwards compatibility, Linux, Dual HDMI (pre-launch) and more.

.

People are always talking about download and upload speeds like they're the end all, be all. They simply aren't. When you press the trigger and it takes 300ms +\- for the command to actually be acknowledged you'll find the AI has killed you before you attacked
quite frequently. Another way of saying it is; think of giving all of the AI a permanent lag switch. Surely you've seen at least a couple of lag switches in action if you play an online FPS, do you really want to play a single player game with that same affect?
Forget about multiplayer, even if you have fiber.

.

Bottom line is if Gaikai was half as good as Sony is marketing it, they wouldn't have been able to buy it for $380,000,000. The free game Clash of Clans is worth more than that and it isn't even the top grossing free game! One day the internet will be strong
enough for game streaming to a large percentage of gamers, but that day isn't today.

Why did they delete the other thread on this subject?

.

All the trash talking on this forum....in context, there was no good reason to delete that thread unless it got really bad which I didn't see.

.

Either way, PSNow will be a good service. Anyone not optimistic about it is lying to themselves. Does MS need a mirror service? I don't know.

.

But I'm sure if they did announce something along the lines of PSNow, some of the ppl that are negative nacy's about it would change their tune.
optimistic? at best people shuold be cautiously optimistic. Not saying it won't be good, but when you think about it

1) speed required is more then what the cloud processing takes, yet people complained about cloud processing

2) Games will be older games and how many available?

3) gaikai wasn't doing well which is why they were open to a buyout. Onlve isn't doing well either.
So all those ppl that come on here and say they want backwards compatibility are forgotten about? As if there aren't lots o gamers that would love to play all those old games again or for the first time.

.

Sony has said that 5Mb/s is the lowest required speed. Dunno if that is good or bad. I'm asking on the PSU forums for someone to explain and/or if they know if that means my 18Mbps download is fast enough or if the download speed when I download games
from say Steam is fast enough.

.

As for gaikai and Onlive.....while they might be the same type of service, Sony is probably smart enough to beef up whatever shortcomings they have. That said, I'm not going to rule out that you might need a high *** internet speed to do this service. Which
then still doesn't make PSNow bad for Sony since theres so many other countries with much better speeds available to consumers. I know ppl in the Netherlands that get crazy speeds and I hear England can be the same. So it's not like no one will be able to
take advantage. Plus speeds are increasing. This is a long haul type deal. Who knows....2 years from now my 18Mbps might be the lowest. Uverse has speeds up to 45Mbps and the cable company around my area, Charter Communications has up to 30 for residential
areas.

.

I just want to be optimistic and I don't see a reason that if it is a paid service.....why ppl are so quick to be negative about it. Ok, so you can't use the service b/c your internet sucks....that doesn't make the service a bad idea....it only sucks for
some ppl....right now.

.

Again, anyone who isn't optimistic about being able to play a huge library of old and new games, hopefully for a reasonable price.....is biased. I'm sure there are Xbox fanboys who don't have their Xbox anymore and would love to play older games and others
that traded in their 360 for a X1 who would love to be able to play some 360 games.

.

Before anyone says "what games?" or "there won't be that many games.".....well, it hasn't even been released yet....like any launch of anything like this....more will come.

Just got a reply from someone on the PSU forums. The lowest required speed is 5Mbps. So, I'm sorry, but if you don't have higher than that...then you shouldn't be online gaming anyway.

I want backwards compatibility. I wanted it built into the consoles so neither Sony nor MS could charge us to run games we already own. Too bad that's what's gonna happen though and I most certainly won't support this practice from either company.

its not true BC. if you have 100 games and can't play them anymore, you'd have to rebuy them. the "BC" complaints are form people who purchased games and want to play them still, which isn't possible with PS Now, you
will have to rent them again or pay a monthly fee (pricing not announced) so the question is is it worth 10 or 15 dollars a month to be able to play games you already purchased? Me personally i can't see shelling out yearly fees to re-play old games i beat
when i can use those fees for 2 brand new games.

.

Sony has said that 5Mb/s is the lowest required speed. Dunno if that is good or bad. I'm asking on the PSU forums for someone to explain and/or if they know if that means my 18Mbps download is fast enough or if the download speed when I download games
from say Steam is fast enough.

the minimum is never ideal. try playing a PC game on minimum requirements and it sucks. also DL speed isn't an issue for most people outside of those with bad internet and bandwidth caps, but the upload speed is important.
upload speed isn't very good on anything outside if a fiber connection. People said the worlds internet average isn't good enough for cloud processing, if thats the case how can be it good enough for a more demanding service. in short, all the people trashing
the cloud and always online by MS have 0 leg to stand on for PS Now as the requirements are much larger. If people thought that you can process lighting or AI in the cloud, how can you process twitch movement? It would be impossible. Sure it would work for
slow paced games or turn based RPGs just fine, but playing a game that requires low lag input like shooters, racers etc it won't work well.

.

As for gaikai and Onlive.....while they might be the same type of service, Sony is probably smart enough to beef up whatever shortcomings they have. That said, I'm not going to rule out that you might need a high *** internet speed to do this service. Which

areas.

its not just the DL speeds you have to worry about. for this to work latency and UL speed are much more important. for instance uverse 32MBPs plan only uploads at 10MBPs and in realit you get about 20 down and 5 up
at best. plus with the added fees and upgrading internet. with ATT to go from 32 to 45 plan is a 40 dollar difference per month add on 10-15 for PS now service and you are paying an extra 65 bucks a month. I could buy 12 new games a year for that price. Plus
you need to use a DS3 contoller only for it.

.

I just want to be optimistic and I don't see a reason that if it is a paid service.....why ppl are so quick to be negative about it. Ok, so you can't use the service b/c your internet sucks....that doesn't make the service a bad idea....it only sucks for
some ppl....right now.

people in general are negative, then throw in fanboys who exaggerate and it gets worse. nothing wrong with optimism. the internet needs more if it IMO. people in general are too negative. I just try to be realistic.
which IMO is being optimistic but skeptical at the same time.

Sure people would love to play old games, but people don't want to rebuy them. people use services like netflix and gamefly for new games not old ones. Also how will the library be. of course you'll have most of the
big sony exclsuives on it, but what about the multiplats will they exist? who knows. the library could win up at like 20 games to start. would that be worth it? guess it depends on the games and price which is my real point. the target audiance wll be small
and then the pricing has to be there as well as selection.

.

Before anyone says "what games?" or "there won't be that many games.".....well, it hasn't even been released yet....like any launch of anything like this....more will come.

thats the main point. cna't get excited off somehting that has literally no info yet. lets see teh games, pricing, and real life performance before anyone talks about it in detail

What practice? If you have a fast internet you can play new games, like Gamefly. Honestly, if you're that bent out of shape having to pay to play older game for such a service and you know that backwards compatibility isn't possible hardware wise this
gen.....then:

.

1. You should have kept your older systems

.

2. or you should go out and buy the older systems.

.

By the time you do all those older games and systems (for example a PS1, PS2, PS3 + all those games you want to play) you probably would have had enough for 2 years of this service.

Me? i'm not bent out of shape at all. I have my 360. i've used it once since the X1 launch to play magic with a few friends for an hour. outside of that 99% of my gaming time has been on the X1. I Like old games, i do. But I really have no interest in paying
to play one i've already beaten.
