When im in party chat i have a grey circle next to my name instead of a blue one.

Im not in game chat cause i have the option to go but when i click it nothing happens. This grey circle is there even when im in a party by myself or with friends, idk what it is but i cant talk in party chat because of it, Please help!

X1 party chat

Hey unsure if this is in the correct place so I apologise if not.

Xbox one party chat. So I can invite and join parties with friends however we just have grey circles next to our names and cannot chat. When I host I can "turn party chat on" and the circles go green but we do not hear each other. When I dont host that button
doesnt do anything. Any advice as after 2 hours im stumped

Can hear party, but party can't hear me.

About a week ago while playing Minecraft, my party dropped. It was an occasional thing, so I wasn't too worried. When the party came back, I noticed that I could hear everything, but my friends were ignoring me. I opened the party to see if my voice was
registering, but the blue circle wasn't moving. I left the party and rejoined to find myself yet again at a blue circle. Having read through the forums I have attempted to troubleshoot the problem with updates, hard resets and even trying the headset on different
controllers.

When I unplug the headset and adapter the blue circle remains. I am forever in a party chat, but I can't speak.

- Crashed while playing Minecraft

- Xbox One Stereo Headset

- Tried on two controllers

- Plugged headset into computer, sound and vocal recognition were fine.

- Permanent blue circle beside my name in party chat.

Grey circle suggests there is no headset connected, the headset is muted or you are using Kinect but turned off the setting in console settings to let the Kinect be used as a microphone.

If you are certain your headset is connected, try unplugging it and plugging it back in again, it may have worked it's way free.

If you are using a 3rd party headset with the adapter, make sure it doesn't have its own mute option which is enabled.

If that all checks out, try using the headset that came with the console and see if the circle turns green.

While the party is snapped back out to the dashboard and highlight it, press Start and select Quit then rejoin the party.

If you get in and can't hear anyone you're probably in Game Chat. Be sure to try switching to Party Chat by highlighting your gamertag and press A then select the proper option.

Even when I'm hosting the party chat it'll start off fine but then eventually it gets silent and I end up talking to myself. There is no X next to my name it shows the circle as if I'm still connected but I ain't. This is a major glitch I use the party chat
system every single time I log on which is every day.

Having the same issue also also my friends and I can join in party chat but we can't hear each other and the little blue circle icons in the party chat either don't appear or doesn't show up that we are talking anyone having this issue as well? This is annoying
party chat hasn't worked right since Xbox 360

i didn't unhook the mic.. but next to my name there was a circle and it lit up when i spoke.. there was no circle next to my friend's name.
