When i try to record on windows 10 it says theres nothing to record

When I go on a game on my laptop, I open up the dvr. and then when I try to record it says there's nothing to record, I've never had this problem before and I've managed to record before pls help

Xbox App on Windows 10

Okay, first off its pretty demeaning for a program to tell ME when its okay for me to record.. if i want to record ill record thankfully i have OBS but it would be cool to use this official recorder if only to try it out.

No matter if its an app or an official thing like minecraft for windows 10 or a real installed game... makes no difference i keep getting "There is nothing to record. Play some more and try again" after it starts recording for 3 seconds.

Game DVR: "There's nothing to record. Play some more and try again."

Whenever I attempt to record some game play, I hit WIN+ALT+R to start recording. The red timer shows up and counts to ten. Once it reaches 10 seconds, It pops up a message that says "There's nothing to record. Play some more and try again." How do you fix
this, and what does it mean by "there's nothing to record"?

Sorry to hear that you're unable to record game footage! Have you recently updated your graphics drivers for your laptop? Additionally, be sure to have your games in full-screen mode rather than windowed mode when attempting to record. You can also attempt
to press the Windows Key + G shortcut to start recording—according to some users, pressing this key may fix this problem. Make sure you have the latest Xbox app update installed as well. For more information about updating apps, see Check
for updates for apps and games from Windows Store.

I told it to record it came up in the corner saying it was recording but when I looked there was nothing there

If nothing happens when you press the Windows logo key
+ G, check your Xbox Game Bar settings. Open the
Start menu, and select Settings >
Gaming and make sure Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Xbox Game Bar is
On.

If Xbox Game Bar doesn’t appear for a full-screen game, try keyboard shortcuts: Press the
Windows logo key + Alt +
R to start recording a clip, then press it again to stop. You’ll see the screen flash when the recording starts and ends.
