When I try to change my avatar it asks for an update, I said yes, but it keeps updating forever

I try to change my avatar, the 360 ask to update the clothes and accessories and I agree to update. It has been updating for 4 hours and there has been no progress at all! Please tell me how to get the update to work so I can change my avatar.

I cannot change my gamertag

So I want to change my gamertag I have enough money on my Xbox account but when I click the all good button to change my gamertag to a new GT it just keeps loading forever and the page that's supposed to ask you if you want to buy the gamertag change
never comes on and it just keeps loading forever, any way to fix this? Maybe get a forced gamertag change I heard some people have gotten those when it wasn't working

xbox keeps doing the same update and won't even let me onto the dash board!

hello for some reason when ever I turn on my xbox it asks for an update I do the update and then it says It needs to restart my xbox. When it has finished restarting it asks for the same update and it keeps updating then restarting. When I get the update
from the computer it doesn't work and when I say no to the update my whole xbox just frezzes. Any ideas?

My windows is up to date, however I cannot update the firmware of my controller as previously stated. When I go to xbox accessories on my PC and try to update my controller for the few seconds that it stays connected it says applying update but sits at 0% forever. And when you connect via bluetooth you cannot update said controller since I am on PC.

I was trying to create a new avatar to replace my old male one and every time I tried to edit my new avatar and the the store would try and update forever. I left it on all night and it still wouldn't finish.

So here's how I fixed it.

1) Disconnect your XB 360 from the internet. Make sure you can't connect to XB live.

2) Create a new avatar while offline and save it.

3) Reconnect to xbox live and try to edit your new avatar, it should update in less than 5 minutes.

Recently, I have noticed that I have had to update my avatar items when I edit my avatar. This may be the reason why, however it could be another reason. I would try going into avatar editor and redownloading the avatar awards when you go to select them.
It should be fairly straight forward, however as I said, may not solve your problem.

Tried the several solutions but nothing seemed to work but I actually fixed it.

Don't know what causes the fix but here is what I did.

1. Powered up my xbox 360 console and did a system update.

2. Went to my avatar and made there a change in appearances (what SigmaTheDJ suggested). Saved it.

3. Went back to my avatar and changed it back. Saved it.

4. Turned the console of and powered up my Xbox One.

5. Went to the avatar editor app and it said there was an update available, so i updated the app.

6. Chose original avatar and POEF, it loaded my original avatar.

So I don't know if the xbox 360 steps were necessary or just the app update but it's working now.
