When I pre-purchased a game it got canceled.

I pre-purchased Destiny 2- Witch Queen back on October 1st, and it took the money out of my account. Until recently there have been no problems and I got all of the account items after I pre-purchased. I've been recently been getting emails saying that the transaction couldn't go through. The problem with this is that I haven't gotten the money back even though it took the money from my bank account.

This is how pre-orders work

If you used a credit card or split your payment between credit card and account balance, you’ll be charged around 10 days before the game launches.

If your account balance is lower than the amount you authorised for pre-order billing, the remainder will be taken from your credit card. You’ll receive an email to your billing account confirming that the remaining card payment was collected successfully, and the game will be available for you to play on the day it launches.

Got it. You have to check the game in your purchase history, it will tell you if the pre-order is still active or has been canceled. If all, when the game is released you will be able to play it.

Hi, as the Ambassador says you can cancel the pre-order by contacting Xbox support, I would recommend you call them by phone.

I canceled my pre-order at Gamestop last week and this morning when I got up I pre-ordered and pre-downloaded the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition right from the Xbox Store.

Just to note, other people have claimed to find a glitch to pre-order games for free and it's actually not a glitch. If you purchase a pre-order with a credit card, you are not charged until about 10 days before the game is released. So there are people
who have tried purchasing a pre-order with a card that has no money on it or something similar and the purchase appears to have gone through when that's actually not the case. The order will actually be cancelled when Microsoft is unable to charge the account.
