Hold Win + I and go to Apps > Apps & Features.

Advanced Options > Reset.

click Reset and confirm.

I used a laptop/chromebook and it's not showing anything up for where I can install my games onto the hard drive but won't it just re-format the hard drive back onto the xbox?

Because when I plugged it in, it showed up as a new device

UNPLUG POWER to CONSOLE, now REMOVE HARD DRIVE from Xbox 360, click on link for steps https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/accessories/add-remove-hard-drive, now plug hard drive back in , then plug POWER back in , TURN ON CONSOLE, and now try
to sign into profile/account. See if you can install game to the hard drive, then try after

Thank you, One more thing, Can I move a game from my attached hard drive to my console? I have fortnite installed on my attached hard drive so when I plug it in the xbox series x will I be able to move the game to my console internal hard drive and have the next gen benefit?

If I have games installed on my external hard drive, can I plug it in and play then without having to redownload them when I am signed inot with the same account?
