When i installed a recent windows 11 update my microphone quit being detected

Win11 by default does not auto update optional updates, as they include drivers

Drivers are obtained from the PC maker

The sound icon, to the rt of the task bar > Settings, check input/output correct devices are set

I am using Windows 11, I have checked for updates, used DS4Windows (its not being detected there either)

This does not answer the question, as updates are not detected by the Xbox App. Some games suffer greatly due to being unable to update (Forza Horizon 5, in my case, being completely unable to do anything the game should allow other than drive around). This is a massive issue, and I don't think it's a per-user issue.z

If your microphone isn't detected after updating Windows 10, you may need to give your apps permission to use it. To let apps access the microphone, select Start ,then select Settings > Privacy > Microphone . Select Change, then turn on Allow apps to access your microphone!

If you try to let HP detect your product (by going to https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/detect?sou...), it does not let you choose Windows 11?

On the drivers download page, have you tried to click on "Detect my drivers"?

If it still do not work, please let me know so I can try to find your audio driver online. If I do not find it, we will need to uninstall the driver and install it via Windows Update. Windows will by its own install the driver for your audio device.
