When I go into settings to make my Xbox one my home console and it won't allow me.

It says I can only switch consles 3 times a year.

What can I do?

Hello, so i have many xboxs this years as mine keep breaking and ive had my total of make this my home xbox and as i juts orded fifa 19 it wont let me get all my games off my old xbox that broke account so would u be able to give me an extra game share so
i can get all my games back, as ive had 5 xboxs this years and all of them have broke

contact xbox support agents here to see if this account qualifies. if further support is needed through forums, please create a separate thread.

In order to prevent people from excessively sharing their game library with multiple people, the game publishers wanted to limit the amount of times games can be shared.

The Home Console sharing is normally only used to share your games with family members in your own home, but can be "abused" to share your games (and Gold membership) to a friend if you want to.

But you can only do that 5 times during 365 days (previously you could change the Home Console setting only 3 times).

If you reached that limit, you can try to contact the official support via
https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and hope they allow you one additional Home Console change. After that, you'll have to wait until 365 days have passed since the first Home Console change.

You can try and contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and if your account is eligible they would be able to reset your home xbox counter.

There are two things you need to set.

First, make sure you set your console as Home Console. To do thay, go to Settings/General/Personalization/My home Xbox and set it as home.

Second, allow remote installation if not already set. Go to Settings/System/Updates & downloads and while there make sure "Allow remote installations" is checked.

What I did :

- I allowed remote installation as you suggest (it was not the cas when I first installed the console as it is not a default option)

- I changed the name of my console (as the default name is XBOXONE)

- I changed the power settings I choose at first to switch to "instant start"

- I went to Settings/General/Personalization/My Home Xbox to make sure that - by default - this console was set as my Home Xbox. As you know it is not a toggle option. I even try the only option that was "remove this as my home Xbox" and then be able to
choose the (only other) option "Make this my home Xbox" (again)

But it didn't work
