    When I go into party chat, it tells me privacy settings prevent me from chatting with certain people. But my settings are set to allow me to talk to everyone, and I’m in a party with friends.

    I am sorry to hear about this issue. Could you please confirm if the privacy setting specifically "You can communicate outside of Xbox with voice & text" is also set to Allow? You can sign in here https://www.xbox.com/en-US/user/settings/privac... and check to confirm. If it's possible, review the options on the privacy page that you wish to set to Allow.

    Once set, try signing out of your account > Restart your Device > Sign back in and see if that works.

    If you have them in a family account there may be restrictions in place that prevent party chats. You may want to check the online safety and privacy settings to make sure nothing is preventing them from talking to people.

    Sorry to hear about the issue. There were some Xbox Live Core Service issues yesterday that affected party chat and messaging. We believe those issues to be resolved at this point.
