    when does a inactive account get deleted.


    if i want the gamer tag of a player that currently has it but they have been inactive for over a year now when i can i have there gamer tag? because its an inactive account that nobody plays on im assuming it a collect name account

    when does a inactive account get deleted.

    There's no way to know 100% how inactive an account is since it can be used on different Microsoft services. But if they don't sign into their Xbox account for 5 years, the gamertag will be freed up. If they don't sign into their Microsoft account within 2 years, that would close the account which should also free up the tag.

    When does Microsoft deem an account inactive long enough to warrant that "purge" of inactive gamer tags?

    I want this account deleted, *** now!!!!!

    It will not be deleted until it has extensive inactivity and MS does another round of account purges, but who knows how long till the next one.

    Inactive accounts rarely get deleted, and it usually takes a long time before they are recycled back into use.

    in 2016 they announced that inactive accounts will be removed if they didn't been active for 5 years. So that means inactive accounts will be deleted in 2021
