when does 360 live shutdown?

license transfer question

I got my kids a 360 for their birthday. Over the years I've downloaded several games for them with my account. I hit license transfer and to put them on theirs not thinking it through. Will the others still be licensed to mineif I connect to live? When exactly does Xbox live change it when you select the transfer and the redownload just lets the 360 know, or does the redownload itself change it?

When the Xbox One comes out, will One gamers be able to play with 360 gamers all via Xbox Live? Does anyone know if there are going to be compatibility issues with that?

 

Microsoft has not announce when the service for the 360 will be shutting down. They have stated in the past that they will still be supporting the console for many years to come.

Remember that internet rumors are only rumors and should not be taken as fact.

Basically what onyx said. Microsoft has been known to change their minds about stuff, or even going back on what they originally said. *coughXbox1DRMcough*. So don't listen to rumour. Xbox Marketing and Strategy Chief Yusuf Mehdi said that Microsoft "intends
to fully support the Xbox 360 until 2016". That could mean up until 2016, or at least until 2016--It could be interpreted in any way.

 

Considering how much they're asking for 360's, they probably shouldn't ever stop supporting them online. At least, not until they are $99.

 

With Microsoft introducing 360 B/C for Xbox One, maybe. Who knows. I doubt Phil Spencer will say anything about it. I'm sure the guy who told people to buy a 360 if they don't have internet really feels great right now.
