When did Xbox Live get so soft?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for banning people that use racially charged terms, but now you get banned over calling people the simplest things. I remember playing CoD back then and lobby’s would be filled with trash talk, examples being Danny G and the
Riot Shield argument among countless other unrecorded fights like that. Now if you say something as simple as “you’re trash (mod removed) get out of here” its a Communication ban. It’s genuinely crazy how soft things have gotten over the years since Xbox
360. And before people brung up “ToS has been the same since then.” I’d like to argue otherwise. People would drop n-bombs left and right and reported them did nothing.

They got more soft right around the same time everyone in society started getting offended by everything so about 2014 or 2015.

They want to make Live a "safe space" so you cant say anything negative or its bye bye.

Everyone should be responsible for the consequences of their own actions online as this is a gaming community with rules and regulations. In the end every report gets investigated by XBLPET before a suspension is issued so there is no chance of report
spamming either.

I want xbox to be a free, but safe place for people. I would cross the line at not allowing someone to have fun, as in harassing them

I play the Division 2 and I get people upset for builds that I worked hard to obtain by grinding. Then you kill them in PvP and they get mad for having a broken meta build. So I get messaged routinely, but I just ignore, report and block.

Lol you can literally get autobanned for banter with IRL freinds, people have been banned without any reports, freinds will
[Mod Removed - Inappropriate] with eachother privately and get banned, especially banter over private IMs.

It is true MS has gotten too strict with CoC enforcement bad enforcement, lol player reports and feedback are 80% fake, people would leave bad feedback if they didn't win a game. Miss the wild wild west years of the original xbox
