    When Did a 16-hour Console Installation Become Acceptable!?


    Even including download time for a digital download this length of time for a game install in completely unacceptable. The more I use this One, the more unhappy I am with it. Oh, hey. I'm at 62%! This console has become so sluggish the past couple of weeks,
    it's almost unusable. Are there any tools out there I can use to see what is running in the background on this thing? It seems to be bound up but even a hard reboot offers no relief. Xbox POS would have been a better name for this generation console.

    X1/PS4 pre-orders double that of 360/PS3

    I think if they stick with the same architecture shorter console cycles will become more acceptable allowing BC of physical and digital games.

    Thanks for coming to the forums for some help on your question.

    Digital downloads will always depend on your internet connection. If you can use wired connection always try and do that as it will speed up your downloads.

    Thanks, Blitzernnn. I don't think this has anything to do with my internet connection. I'm hard wired and clocking at 90Megs download speeds with the on board test and I'm usually somewhere between 20 and 50 under normal conditions. It's during the actual
    "installing..." step. I don't know if this is purely unpacking or if there are more downloads during this process (I would suspect). But at any rate, I don't think the bottleneck is on this side. I have a feeling this is related to my console's recent sluggishness.
    It feels like a cpu or disk utilization problem, like something is tying it up. The interface comes in slow and then I have to wait before I can actually interact with it. And when I do, it will buffer a couple dozen inputs and then suddenly let them all go.
    It seems to free up and eventually starts binding up again. I think I need to put this in its own thread for attention.

    everyone is having these issues. the xbox is slow and laggy. apps and games always crash on me. i Still love my console though. give it some time

    If you recently installed the application, it takes a full 72-hour process for your console to be accepted into the program. When this happens, you should not have the issue anymore.
