    When can java Minecraft owners start getting windows 10 codes again?


    I'm having performance issues with the java version of minecraft and decided to upgrade the machine I use to Windows 10 for that very reason. I then went to mojang to download the native windows 10 version but came up against this
    error "Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10".

    Posts of forums across the net say this has been going on for some time. That being the case, when can I expect this to change so I can enjoy minecraft again with proper performance. Come on, Microsoft, take care of your customers. We're starting to feel
    like King Arthur being taunted and ignored by the Frenchman up in the castle.

    I really don't want to have to build a Trojan bunny.

    try the Microsoft store. Your purchases will show up there. Bedrock and windows 10 versions were separate purchases from the java version.

    i have already bought minecraft win 10 , but for edition java, i should buy it again on 23 euro??

    The Java edition is not free for owners of Minecraft Windows 10, sadly. So this is completely normal to have to pay for it again. Does this help or were you more looking for reasons as to justify buying it again/what makes it different?

    As someone who has Minecraft for both Xbox One and Windows (both Win 10 version and the Java version) I can answer this.

    Poli5hesBubble: When the Windows 10 Edition (Windows Store Version) of the Minecraft entered public Beta in 2015/2016, owners of the pre-existing Java version were given a key to download and own the Windows 10 Edition (Windows Store Version) for free, as
    they already owned it for PC (in Java form). However, this does NOT work in reverse; if you bought the Windows 10 Edition (Windows Store Version), you will NOT be given a free copy of the Java version.

    KyleCBlanchard: Similar to the answer for Poli5hedBubble, if you own the Java version from Minecraft.net, you should be able to go to your Mojang account, log in and see a key that, once entered into the Windows Store or at redeem.microsoft.com, will allow
    you download the free copy of Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition for free.

    and under the “My Games” heading you will find a button to claim your gift code. If you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition after October 19th, 2018, the button will not be there, so if you’re unsure of when you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition, that’s a good
    way to check. Pressing the button will generate a token and send you to a Microsoft redemption page.
