When buying a new xbox one.

I already own a xbox one. I will be purchasing the halo 5 bundle and give my brother my older xbox one. Before I delete all my files off my old one. Do I need to transfer the files and saved games? Are the saved games and progress from those games on my
Xbox? Or are they tied to my gamer tag. Just don't want to lose a lot of progress in a lot of games. Sorry if it's a dumb question. Thanks for you help in advance!

Well i'll have to do it on the console anyway since when you click on the 'start transfer link now' on the migrating licence page you get the oops wrong page error.

 

That's not at all a dumb question! Your games and apps will have to be reinstalled, but as long as you were connected to Live last time you played your games, your save games will transfer over, as they are stored in the cloud. If at all possible, to save
time reinstalling, I would move your games to an external hard drive before switching consoles too.

I would definitely suggest what KenH2k4 said about an External hard drive, it is time consuming but in the end its a lot faster than re downloading the game to the new xbox

 

I would also suggest what KenH2k4 said as well as the External hard drive especially if any of your games are digital so it will help to save your internet bill at the end of the month!
