What's your favorite & least favorite game genre of all time?

I don't know about Fable ...

More RPGs for beginners? As for sports games, I have a Kinect. I think Kinect Sports would be better for me,

Don't like RTS. I have trouble keeping that much focus on 800 different things. The only thing I dislike worse than RTS? Traditional Team Sports games. Football, Futbol, Hockey, Basketball, Baseball...etc, etc...NAH! Rather go outside for those.

Dead Island, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 & NV, even Alien: Isolation that I rank in my top ten games of all time now... you could misjudge distance with the stun baton... it's awkward. Chivalry is built almost entirely around first-person melee... it's good
but awkward too. Folk can get good at it though.

-- RTS's. I love the Total War games. Medieval II is still my favourite, I like modding the traits of my generals to make them weird, sickly, and perverse... and yet stiill have them be successful. Have morale be wafer thin in my armies. But the rank and
file still manages to get through it. Heh.

Got high hopes for Warhammer. I've been praying for a Creative Assembly Warhammer games since Medieval 1. I even begged on the old Games Workshop forums a few times. lol They always had pants studios on continental Europe making Warhammer games, and snapping
up licenses... when they had one of the best RTS developers in the world right next door in England. It was driving me nuts. Heh.

It took SEGA buyouts, THQ's collapse, and licenses in limbo for it to happen. But it's happening and I am PUMPED to see what they do! Total War: Warhammer. Reee!

I love FPS/TPS and GTA-like open-world games. Can't see myself playing RPGs or sports games because of complexity with them.

@Vaynel I would have that "melee" problem with Black Ops II more than other shooters.

Perhaps my biggest irritation for first person games is melee, it just don't work.

Because of the aforementioned lack of depth perception you can't accurately judge how far away the enemy is, leading to all too often either waving your weapon and missing or having to get so close you can tell what they had for breakfast.

The genre I consistently dislike is the first person shooter, any game which uses the first person view to be honest.

I just don't grasp how something which lacks peripheral vision, spacial awareness, and depth perception can be considered to be more immersive.

Of course there are first person games I like but as a general rule I try to avoid them.
