What's your favorite boss battle?

The Gaping Dragon from Dark Souls. Taking a huge oversized sword and whacking his tail with a massive swing never gets old.

There are so many more awesome ones through the years, but it's hard to remember.

What's your favorite deck?

Playing with Gideon's deck so far. I prefer to pick one and play until I unlock everything. I will say having just unlocked Jace's deck I am disappointed in the direction they took. Took a so-so counter deck and turned it into yet another creature deck.
I guess this is the way they prefer the game--creature battles. (Feels more like a pre-release tourney or draft which are creature fests). Would be nice if they stuck to some of the choices from the first iteration by making a decent counter deck. Heck
as inconsistent as Jace's original deck was, I could still win a fair number of games with it--sad to see the removal of a counter themed deck.

Chandra's burn deck is my favorite. So far my record with it is around 30-5 I'm guessing. Put it this way. I use that deck more than any other deck and as of 10 minutes ago I'm ranked 5th in 1v1 on the leaderboards. UG
ramp is pretty good too. So is Gideon's white weenie deck. The weakest deck I've seen so far is Garruk's Stompy deck. I mean, why play that when you can just play UG ramp. It's got better ramp and better creatures.

 

The final Boss fight in Gears 3. I think it was Myrrah or something like that

 

I forgot about Action/Adventure titles... Mr. Freeze in Arkham City was already mentioned so I'll add Darth Vader from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (first one) at the end, with the "dark side choice" 2nd battle included.

 

Ganondorf/Ganon from OoT will always be a classic in my book.

The final boss in SH: Downpour is probably one of my favorites in the series. I also really liked the Missionary, Flesh Lips, Abstract Daddy, the first boss from SH1, and The Incubus.

Gaius from Tales of Xillia.

 

"Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire" the jetpack boss battle against Boba Fett.

Most epic boss fight ever.

Nothing I've played before or after has matched the sense of intensity and terror.

 

I love all the NG2 and Dark Souls 1 & 2 boss fights, very hard to pick a favourite in anything for me, haha.

 

MGS - Sniper Wolf and Psycho Mantis.

 

It's hard to call, but any of the Ninja Gaiden bosses, I have fond memories of several encounters and x rated opinions of others lol. All were good, but I think Alma is one of the best. Genshin and Elizebet are good too.

 

End boss in Gears of War 1 (forgot name sorry). I tried over and over but couldn't beat it on insane, sold the game, bought it back again a couple of years later to give it '1 more go' and did it pretty much straight away. Probably the most satisfied I have
ever been beating a boss/game.

 

Oh yeah, honourable mention to "Zaxxon".

Never before or since have a bunch of geometric shapes inspired such dread.

 

I helped two friends beat Raam on insane and yes...they were aggravating as heck. (both my friends, and raam) : P

I love a good boss battle. There is nothing worse than having it last less than 30 seconds. Very unsatisfying.

FF8's final battle with Ultimecia is still the best of the best. You really had to have your strategy down perfectly. Very long boss battle. If I remember correctly Ultimecia has 3 stages/morphs and you just have to keep pummeling her.

 

Off in another direction, how about the absolute WORST boss fight ever? I have an answer for that...

"Satanail" from Star Ocean: The Last Hope ---- I think that is the subtitle, I forget. It was the Star Ocean game from 2009. He was the final boss. The last save point is before 3 different minibosses, then you get to the final boss mentioned above and
on normal difficulty it took 45 minutes (I timed it) to beat him. It takes 30+ to get to him from the last save point so ultimately it was something where if you died, you were looking at starting over an hour and a half sequence to try to finish the game.
It was a heavy attrition fight and I barely made it from buying enough healing/resurrecting reagents to keep my guys alive. There is no indication of health or anything so it just turned into recycling the same strategy over and over and over in a monotonous
way to do as much damage as possible without losing anyone and wait until at some point the death animation starts.

I don't even know why I played that game to the end, a girl I was dating at the time had bought it and never played it so I just ran through it when I didn't have a backlog and there wasn't any rewarding feeling after it was over; I found the game mediocre
and the story kinda dumb so it was the most annoying boss sequence ever for a "thank god it's over" feeling.

 

The Human Reaper in Mass Effect 2...it was a cool lookin and wicked boss and it totally sucked to beat on insanity mode with collectors killing you every 10 seconds:/ Honorable mention to the final boss battle between Darth Revan and Darth Malak in Star
