What's Wrong With My Xbox Game Purchases & Issues Recognising Ownership?

Hi there. I am very new to this whole forum thing so please do let me know if I am breaching any rules in any way. I've already been lectured about "bumping" old threads, obviously without intending to break said rules. I just want a question answered. ...and
xbox sure have very little support for the gamers that use their consoles.

Problem: Previously bought games on my account that have been uninstalled due to a factory reset - I have to purchase them again. Why? Why arent the games ive bought not being restored on my account? Surely that should be the case. If xbox 360 could do it
no problem, why cant my xbox one? I've spent quite a lot of money on these games & I refuse to buy anything else cos of this issue. Does that mean when we buy a new xbox & log into my account - I have to buy all my games again? What's the issue here guys,
I'm pretty annoyed about this.

Problem: Theres an issue saving game progress. Most games wont save any progress when previously they did with no issue.

Problem: Games arent launching.

Problem: Fortnite wont install the new season update. The installation auto stops every time you try to start it again.

Problem: The store ALWAYS crashes and always in need of an update. This can crash the entire xbox and causes a deep reset.

I'd love it to be the fact my xbox is old (it's an xbox one) - and buying a new one would fix all my issues. But I dont think that would be the case. I feel like I'll lose everything as soon as i get a new xbox. Someone help me if they know anything. And
please dont say "go onto ready to install" - because that's my point. The games I've previously bought and previously downloaded with the gamepass arent there. I'm spending money on the xbox game pass and getting literally nothing out of it anymore.

Also, the link I've posted here should route you to where you can view your purchase history. If a game you are looking for doesn't show up here, then that means you never owned the game and may have it through someone's game-share/license transfer in the
past or as the mod had stated, it could have been a gamepass streaming title and you'll have to just redownload it from gamepass because people who have that subscription don't technically own those games. You just get to download and play them for as long
as you pay for that service.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to these issues, when it comes to games uninstalling, usually they would wind up in your ready to install. However, if they are Xbox Game Pass titles, you will need to go to the Game Pass section in your
Games and Apps menu to re-install the games as that's where those games will be.

Additionally, when it comes to games not launching what steps have you tried to resolve this issue? I understand that you've tried a factory reset but, what other steps have you tried? You can try the steps in this support article for
My Xbox One game won't start for further assistance.

As for the Game save progress issue, have you tested your network? Sometimes a poor connection to your network can affect the game save progress. Have you tried to remove and redownload your profile from your console to resync the cloud data? This could
assist in reestablishing the saved data.

Have you tried checking for an update? Are you in the preview program? If you are in the preview program, you may have to wait for another update to fix any of the bugs or issues you are encountering.

Correct, just the Free Souls pack that I re-purchased (for free) is showing. Everything else wants me to re-purchase instead of install. This is both through the Microsoft website (linked above), the Xbox One console and store page when browsed from the Xbox One console. The content on the Xbox 360 works perfectly but I don't want to have to use that. Thats what backwards compatibility is for.

As I said, the issue is to do with the new Microsoft store that the Xbox One uses to verify ownership not recognising the content was previously purchased on the original Xbox store used by the Xbox 360 console.

I'm getting exactly the same issue here. I purchased £5 of Xbox Credit and the code is recognised, taking me to the confirm screen but on clicking confirm, I get that error message. I purchased from CDKeys instead of GAME so this doesn't seem to be a GAME
specific issue.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me (along with the others in this thread with the same issue). I only purchased the code last week and it's really not been my day since yesterday. The code is recognised so that doesn't seem to be what's causing
the issue, it's just not letting us confirm it and add the contents to our accounts.

One S is digital only.... Using disc on my 'main' xbox, like playing games on 'spare' occasionally.

That would be why. When you buy a disc game, the disc is primarily used to prove ownership and so the disc has to be in the drive all the time you play the game. As the One S is digital only, you can't put the disc in thus the system does not recognise you own the game hence the purchase prompts.

Unfortunately, in order to play it on your One S, you will need to purchase the digital version of it
