    Since there was supposed to be sweepstakes for new xbox one x's. I made a concerted effort to get serious. I preordered Shadow of War, Forza 7 and Assassins origins. I also purchased Evil Within 2 a couple of days after release. Microsoft sent me a
    message saying well done, but only 59 points earned at the store.

    I also wanted to make sure I was qualified for the sweepstake, due to the 3 preorders. I've purchased 77 games mostly from the store, some on sale but there is hundreds if not well over a thousand dollars worth of games purchased digitally in the last
    year.

    Hey...having an error code problem: 0x803F8001

    Can't play Microsoft Mahjong-says this error code, go to store, I go to store repeats the same error code???

    I can play Microsoft Solitaire Games, but not Microsoft Mahjong...what's up with that???

    WHY CAN'T I USE MY XBOX MICROSOFT POINTS/CASH CARD TO RENEW MY XBOX LIVE GOLD SUBSCRIPTION??

    what's the guy like me at store saying I could do this with my Microsoft Points thinking I could get xbox live from them

    Nothing has been confirmed, as you say only rumours. The 12 months has only been removed from the Microsoft Store. Other stores still have them.

    Well it looks like my streak has been restored and then some. It's now at 62 week from 59. Doesn't look like i got the 60 week points, though i wasn't watching my points that closely in general to know that for sure. I never did hear from Microsoft support
    after the initial ticket was opened.

    I see that you say you added those points cards when you got a message saying they would be converted to currency. This suggests that you added the points after the retirement date.

    If this is accurate then further to the FAQ you linked:

    What happens to my Microsoft Points cards?

    If you still have Microsoft Points cards or codes, you may redeem them on your console or Xbox.com, and we’ll add to your Microsoft account an amount of currency equal to or greater than the Xbox stores’ value of your Microsoft Points card or
