What's up with Kinect (for Xbox One)

The Kinect and adapters were discontinued a couple of months before Christmas. Mainly due to lack of sales.

The Kinect is used for certain Kinect games so it can take your movements, voice, etc. On the One it was mostly for dance games. Personally I thought the 360 had better Kinect games. Other than that, you could use it for voice commands.

When your Kinect breaks from jumping up and down in your house, enjoy the $500 brick. You cannot access Xbox One without Kinect because it's required. MS is in for a lot of customer support headaches. Better get a warranty, those replacement Kinects are
going to be expensive. Also get a back up console, because that's what your going to play while waiting for your new Kinect.

if you have a xbox one s you will need to buy an adapter for your Kinect. but if you are just trying to get a webcam instead id look up a list of what one are compatible with xbox.

You are completely missing the point of kinect 2.0 being a part of the console. There are not just going to be kinect games and non kinect games. Sure, there will be kinect games, but what's going to happen is we are just going to end up with games that
utilize various parts of the sensor to enhance the gameplay experience.

I would like to see a Kinect free bundle. Now that kinect is not even needed anymore for the system to work, what is the point of it being bundled with the system? Microsoft needs to remove the Kinect and sell the Xbox one for $400, and sell the kinect as
a stand alone product for $100. I'm a game player, and i want a powerfull next gen console that is for the gamer. That is not what the Xbox one is. Xbox one is an media box that also plays games. Kinect uses like 10 percent of the cpu's power! this takes
