What's the purpose of LFG except to browse thru spam

I am pretty sure this may have been brought up before. But I have to ask, what is the point of Looking For Groups? Just like the recent porn bot spams, LFG sees tons of spam from users only trying to sucker other players into increasing follower counts (either
for popularity status or for account reselling to those wanting to buy high follower accounts). When I look at the LFG section from the Home screen, 9/10th of the posted LFG's are "add me, I'm a girl", in-game cash scams, and other types of spam. And it seems
nothing is being done to fight this spam. Sure, club admins can ban the offending account, but the LFG post stay until the end time, which can sometimes be a week.

Support needs to come up with a way to battle this abuse or just completely remove the LFG system. I hardly use it since it is mostly spam anyhow.

    :)

I'd agree.. except a large number of LFG posts are
spam, as I originally posted but somehow was missed in response. Outside of Report to Xbox Live Enforcement (which does little to curb the abuse), there is little in the way to clear or filter out the spam LFG posts. If LFG's are mostly
spam, what is the purpose of having it? I don't think the LFG purpose is to get people to follow you, sell a dlc, sell an account, scam out in-game cash, etc. But that is what is has become. So, again, what is the purpose of LFG other than to browse thru spam?

Well... It certainly seems MS/Xbox doesn't care about their anti-spam commitment from several years ago. @ years after implimenting the LFG, and well knowing it could be abused, nothing has been done to curb or ban the abuse. In one clib alome, 9 of 9 LFG
posts were spam. And that is of todays date. Even more funny, those spam posts are by users who have been reported numerous times of over more than 6 months of posting the same spam in a multitude of other clubs and LFG's. The biggest question being, if MS/Xbox
Enforcement can't do the job, should the LFG feature be remove entirely? It is rather pointless to have if 94% of it is spam and scams. So what if 6% is legit. Enforcement has slacked so much that the ratio is on par with email spam/scams. Should we not have
filter options that are more than two decades old to clear out this crap? Any higher up official from MS/Xbox wish to comment on the record about this epidemic?

I was banned for making a looking for group post that said "Standard"

No you are misunderstanding the purpose of spam rules

Anything unrelated or posted constantly repetitively

Spam is unrelated to the subject of LFG

Lfg is only to be used for Looking for group posts not unrelated topics like spam or trading etc

I was banned for making a looking for group post that said "Standard"

You cant determine what is spam equally across all videos games, all posts are different to each. If you check the enforcement guide lines in content '3' it tells you what they consider is spam. Spam is what they consider any LFG post that is advertising yourself, constant spam posting or harassing another player in any way, for any purpose. How can you explain spam was correctly used if the reporting system only detects key words once being reported. it never says in the guidelines anything unrelated to LFG is considered spam, that's because every game is different.

Not unless the above user who asked the question is playing a cooking game, or had his reasons of making a post about a food item. Microsoft had no right banning him since its still related to this gaming. But they wouldn't know since they don't check all that. Very poor reporting system.
