Whats the point of this forum? why can we not contact xbox / microsoft anymore?

Im having a hardware issue with my 4 month old Xbox One X

The error page on the xbox tells me to go to www.xbox.com/networkhardware for info on mac address filtering

When you go to that page, it redirects it to this forum instead of the information and instructions Xbox said I would find

A search provides many threads, no actual answers. All the Xbox Ambassadors, whatever they are, instead of providing the information that Xbox tells us we will find here, tells us to contact our ISP (which makes no sense)

Also, when calling the 1800 number for xbox support, it only gives a voice message which states to go to a website and then hangs up

that website has option such as "Ask a gamer" which does not work

"Online chat" which says unavailable

"Schedule a call back" which also says unavailable

This hardware issue requires support from Microsoft, not other gamers, or a random forum. My xbox is under warranty and without the ability to contact them, i cant even get either the support or honoring of the warranty..

Xbox used to have great customer and technical support. What happened? only a couple years ago it was amazing, now its 100% unreachable even to honor their warranty

He just means to wait until this current service alert is up to try contacting support again. Since there is an outage support likely has a huge delay right now.

I do see where the confusion comes in from the Network Hardware link. "For more information, visit the Networking
Hardware Information within our forums to learn how to configure and update your specific network hardware." So it is sending you to the forums, not an actual support page. The Network Hardware section
of the forums has subcategories set up for different types of equipment. Unfortunately, they're no longer very active anymore. As there is currently a service outage, lines of contact may be overstretched, so you will receive that automated message. I'm sorry for the poor experience.

Can we all learn a bit more about what the issue is with your Xbox? How long has this happened for? Do you get any specific error codes? You can share a photo if you like, by adding it to a reply post.

My best advice would be to wait overnight until things stabilise, and then try and connect your Xbox to the internet as normal, as this might be related to the outage.

If you continue to run into issues, feel free to reply, and the community will be happy to help.

It should.also be noted that wpa or wep keys are context sensitive and is ome of the most common problems of not connecting to wifi networks

You have to type.them exactly as seen

Its best to use a keyboard.rather then on screen keyboard especially for long ones

Or the very least turn on display key so you can see what you are typing incase of errors

If you are getting not connected are you sure you are entering the key right? 90% of the time its not hardware failure but typos when entering the key

Which is why I use customize keys so I know.what im.typing and what context

Some isp.keys are actually mixed letters and numbers

So becareful what you type

The issue with my xbox is, it refuses to connect to my wifi. Not "the internet" to the local wifi network. Xbox services, internet access, etc should have no effect on that

It gives me no code but gives me instructions to go to www.xbox.com/networkhardware for information on how to set up mac filtering, which that page does not exist and instead sends me to this forum

Why would I wait overnight? so far the results ive seen suggested by xbox ambassadors are wait overnight, use a wired connection, play offline games.... seriously? the only suggestions given are to not get what we paid for? I bought an Xbox One X with wifi,
not with wired only, not to play only when xbox decides i can, not to play only offline games.....

does this forum offer any actual help?
