What's next for the 1?

So now that MS fired the first volley before E3 with the kinectless Xbox one and freeing a few app from the pay wall, what's next? Are there anymore surprises out there?

Let the speculation begin!!

P.s: Just trying to get a feel about how the MS community sees these changes and what (if any) are their predictions.

Fortnite Battle Royale - What's Next

With the most recent update of Fortnite Battle Royale on January 17, we were introduced to some awesome, new cities on the West side of the map along some other minor fixes. Epic has been talking about introducing vehicles into the 100-player PvP for sometime.
Most recently, they said that if they were to add vehicles, they would be most useful in unique, strategic plays.

How do you think Epic will go about introducing vehicles into Fortnite Battle Royale?

Personally, I think adding two-man quads would be perfect. The player riding on the back can shoot while the other drives. I think this idea would make for a really fun, limited-time playlist of Quad Squads. What that would entail exactly I'm not so sure.
Anyways, what do you think?

 

The Next-Gen of Consoles, what's more important?

The graphics are already good enough. I hope the games that come with the new consoles have more going on. And also for Xbox and to a lesser extent on PS3 more people in online games. 16 just is not enough when PC games have had 64 players for the last 8
years. Maybe a way for people to set up dedicated servers.

 

All good and needed things so far, they clearly are starting to cater to more than just the part of their fanbase that specifically wants what they have been trying to push. Paywall apps were always silly as they are the only people who have done that;
clearly it was not necessary. Kinectless Xbox some may be unhappy with but it will probably bring more people to the 1 who previously were not going to buy it. I think more users on the 1 is ultimately good for pre-existing 1 users (more people to play with).
I mean, after all, people could opt out of using it already so there was no real need to force the purchase when you weren't forcing the use.

I think they addressed what people were asking for at this point, so hard to say what's next.

 

They will likely announce a Slim version of the XBO with much improved bells and whistles, along with a removable Hard Drive. You know they had to have known that a non-removable Hard Drive was a huge design flaw. And yet Sony capitalized on it?!?!

Another design flaw was the overall size of the XBO. So a Slim version could do a lot more good than harm.

 

The size wasn't an issue for me (the one was designed to be the center of your entertainment center). If they were to come up with a removable HD so soon after release would be a big disappointment to all those who purchase the one originally. I for one
would be upset.

 

Follow up question:

without the Kinect, Does that mean more processing is in use on the console?

And if so, how much of an improvement?

 

I wouldn't consider the size a design flaw. In fact I think making it smaller would be. Because of the size and the fact that the power brick is on the outside means little chance of overheating which is what caused both the RROD and YLOD. Having experienced
both of those, I'll take a big ugly box(not that the One is ugly) over a slim more sleek box that has overheating issues any day of the week. My PS4, which I love, runs very hot. Its more compact design along with it having an internal power supply means
that their is potential for overheating problems in the future.

@Baldy I have heard that anywhere from 20% to a third of the Ones resources are tied to Kinect. Don't know for sure though.

 

I heard it was 10% that was initially reserved for kinect, but they released 8% of it to give developers more processing power.

 

BEAST: You own both the PS4, and the XBO.

Isn't the PS4 smaller than the XBO - Even though the power brick is internal?

As for the HDD on the PS4 it's easily to UPGRADE. Try that with the XBO and you'll void your warranty. Isn't that so?

Thus my premise that the design of the XBO is flawed. But lets delve further. 500 GB internal HDD with ? much free space out of the box? Newer games requiring over 50 GB of space X # of games leaves gamers who like having a collection of games with only
one option in order to conserve space.

Yes I have both and I agree to an extent about the HDD. I have 2 external hdd's though so I don't really care about it myself. Also the PS4 is smaller with an internal power brick, but that was part of my point. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if
PS4's have an issue similar to the RROD or YLOD. The thing runs incredibly hot. I don't foresee that with the One, because with that much airflow, overheating shouldn't be a problem.

 

Maybe they will announce Xbox bubble wrap will get 50% more bubbles for us bubble poppers.We want more from our console than just games.

 

They need to announce a slim version with a larger hard drive-something with maybe a terabyte or more.I'm wondering if they will get any limited edition consoles like the 360 did.
