What's going on with Xbox's message system?

I rely on this to keep in contact with people so if I can't send messages it becomes a problem. So first of all, my power supply for my xbox died so I needed another way of sending messages. Here is what I've done -

Xbox app for windows 10 - app works fine, until you try and click on 'messages' and then the app crashes. can't do messages on there.

Xbox app for android - Same again, generally works for anything other than sending messages, i get 'this message can't be sent' messages or 'something went wrong here'

Xbox website - went to a persons profile to send them a message, no idea if it has gone through or not because my message history has 3 months worth of messages missing, it's only showing them from June and earlier.

So is my only option for conversing with people to turn on my xbox and type 500 character messages with a controller? I think it's pretty crap (to put it mildly) that messaging is broken across the board.

Sorry to hear about the issue sending messages outside of the console. Things seem to be working as far as we can tell here, so we'll need a bit more info. What device are you using to send messages where you're seeing the error? Are you able to send messages
on xbox.com without any issues? What about on Windows 10 in the Xbox App?

There were two apps in the google app store, an xbox app and an xbox beta app. the beta one crashes when selecting messages or it just says something went wrong and doesn't display any messages. I tried using the other xbox app and
that seems to be sending messages ok (using a pretty old Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet so I can understand having issues there). On the desktop pc I can send messages on xbox.com but I can't tell if they have gone through because my message history on xbox.com isn't
updating so I can't see what I sent, I have to go onto the app to see if the message was sent. the windows 10 app works fine for everything apart from the messages, when I click on the message icon the app crashes.

Can't see the message at all on xbox.com so can't reply to it there, it's still not updating and the last message it's showing is from June. Messages coming through ok, after weeks of not working not it seems the windows 10 app has stopped crashing, I just
tried to send a message, looks like it went ok and i can see it says sent. All very odd.

 

Yep, I did get the message just fine. Which browser are you using right now to send and receive messages on Xbox.com? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the app on the tablet yet to see if that helped out at all?
