what's a good first time achievement number?

just curious, when you finish a game for the first time, what would you expect your achievement number/percentage to be? do you look at the list beforehand and go out looking to get every achievement possible? do you play straight through the single player
blind and only get the story related chevos?

what's the most you've gotten in a single playthrough on a full 1000 point game? what's the least? try to discount games like avatar.

for me playing normally, quick glance for difficulty and collection achievements, i usually expect to get about half the amount...playing on normal and getting all the collectables, a little over half.

not sure what my best game was, but the last of us is horrible for trophies, i only got two trophies for beating it the first time...

Depends on the game whether I get all the achievements or trophies. I am not a huge grinder but if I like and enjoyed a particular game I aim to get all of the achievements and play it till I get them all.

 

None really. I play the game once through to experience it and then a second+ time to get achievements.

 

I average about 300 gamerscore without actually trying to go for achievements on a first play through.

 

A 1000GS is a good one, but 300-ish is probably the norm for a first play through, unless you are playing a Japanese game, in which case you would be lucky to get more than 50GS.

 

I think Wolf nailed it..... "Depends on the game". If you play Avatar TLA TBS you should get 1000 in the first 10 minutes of play......... Final fantasy on the otherhand could take over 100 hours to get just the level achievements..... GOOD LUCK!!!!

I generally get anywhere between 500 - 700 on the first play through. I always look to see if there is difficulty/weapon achievements and then don't pay too much attention to them on the first play through.

[/quote]That's called being a completionist. Achievement w***** are people who play a lot of kids games for the sake of easy gamerscore.



I usually get 1000 if it's possible in a single playthrough. Mostly there's achievements for other difficulties, post-game collectables/quests and other achievements that are impossible on the first playthrough though.

[/quote]This. I try to get all the achievements if i got hooked in the game but i can live without perfect completion or 1000/1000 in games.

I go through the game blind and get what I get, then after I'm finished I will go back and mop up the ones I missed.
