Like others have said, depends on the game and if I like the look of it or not.

On average I'm paying about £40-45 for XB1 games, sometimes even less.

Shop about and there is some great deals out there.

You usually find places like Sainsbury's, Asda, Tesco's have the best prices/deals

  2. £40 tops, but always worth shopping around as you can invariably get them cheaper from somewhere.

The film comparison is rubbish, a film last a couple of hours at most usually, a decent game gives you much more hours of enjoyment, no comparison.

  5. If I had my way it would be this:

Digital Games (AAA or not) : £39.99

AAA titles on disc : £44.99

    XBLA - like games : £4.99 - 9.99

    Season Passes : Free - £9.99

  6. Thanks for all the replies.

I was in no way advocating the pricing in the original post was just what I have observed lately.

My lesson is learned and apart from Halo I'm giving up on first day games as they are just too expensive.

I do usually get my moneys worth from a game although I've only played Kinect sports Rivals twice since it came out and only to get past the first tutorials.

I don't like to pay more than £40 a game but as I have two xbox ones it is cheaper to go digital as I get two for the price of one. Even though watchdogs is £60 I downloaded it on my lounge xbox for my Daughter to play then re download it on my xbox in my
game's room. At £30 each I couldn't of found it cheaper in shops.

I agree that downloading games should be cheaper. The problem is that if it was then sales in shops would plummet. I wonder if this is why they purposely keep the prices high. As they need the shops on side to sell their hardware.

What is really annoying me now is the amount of DLC that comes out on launch of new titles! Should this not be part of what I'm purchasing? I would understand if the developers created something new after the release. But it just seems like common practise
now to leave out certain missions and maps. Then charge us extra for it.

Yes with two xbox ones it does save money my second one I bought the Titanfall pack so I downloaded it on my lounge one first (Home console) and then on the new console so I got 2 for free effectively. I won't bother with single player games though because
we won't have to play at the same time so will probably stick to a hard copy for those. I bought the didital download of Call of duty last week for £22 from Amazon so that was a great deal at £11 each and also downloaded it for 360 as well for free.

I try not to pay more than £40 too which I think is a fair price for most games. I don't think digital games should cost more than £30 because there are no distribution costs and no way trading it in. Some games however people get £100's worth of gameplay
out of i.e CoD, FIFA and Skyrim. But I think as gamers we do well with the cost of games in regards to the rate of inflation - I paid £60 each for Street Fighter II Turbo and Mortal Kombat on the SNES over 20 years ago! I think if your mortgage was £60 p/w
    (£240 p/m) 20 years ago it'd be a minimum of £200 p/w or £800 p/m now....sort of puts the price of our hobby I to perspective!

I pre-ordered GTA 5 for £35 and Halo 4 for ~£30 so I don't know how you managed to dump them in the £50-£60. I won't pay more than £40 for console games.
