    What will happen if downloading a digital game power goes out and XBox turns off?


    If I am downloading a digital game for example Forsaken Horizan 3. And my internet speed is slow.If the power goes out and my Xbox switches out.Will the Downloadin restart.If I pause and switches off the Console will the downloading restart or resume from
    the point I paused it?

    What will happen to the game I am downloading if the connection goes out.Will the game downloads from beginning Or from the point the connection is lost.If I pause the download and switch Xbox one off will it restart from beginning?

    Power supply issues

    I have an Xbox one, I’ve had it for about 4 or 5 years. Recently every time I try to play a game the Xbox will self shutdown after about 5 minutes. Once it does the light on the power brick goes out and it won’t turn on. Apps like YouTube and Netflix work, but
    I’ve tried all my games some on disk some already downloaded and they all cause the power brick to lose power and turn the Xbox off. If I unplug the power brick from the outlet and plug it back in the power brick light comes back on white and then orange and
    then the same thing happens once I turn my Xbox on and try play a game. I’ve tried resetting the power brick and Xbox and clearing storage. What else should I do??

    Hey there OBL1V1ON,

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with your games.

    To help us get a better picture on what is happening:

    1. Are these disc games or digital downloads?
    2. Have you tried downloading any apps like Youtube?

    Can you try hard rebooting your system using these steps:

    • Turn off your console by holding the power button for 5 seconds
    • Unplug your power supply from the wall and the console
    • Leave everything unplugged for about 5 minutes
    • Plug your console back in and turn on your console
    • Try installing your games again

    Please keep us posted on how everything goes.

    you are asking me to run a ping test when the problem is happening, well when the problem happens my internet goes out and i have to power cycle the modem and turn my xbox completely off to get my internet back on.

    No, it hasn't happened. Maybe try a power cycle. Hold the power button on your console for 5 seconds to turn it off and then wait 30 seconds. After that turn it on again and try it. See what happens. This process also clears the cache. Maybe try the power
    cycle 3 or 4 times in a row.

    Repeating downloads?

    I log out then I say Xbox, Turn Off. I don't think that I can turn it on using voice. What setting should I have it set to if I want to manually download game updates and to have it power off completely when I say Xbox, Turn Off? Thanks for your help.

    Auto Restart on Downloads after forced stop due to network

    Go into Settings

    Turn Power mode to Instant-on,

    Uncheck the box when xbox is off, turn off storage.

    This should allow you to turn off your console and it will continue to download while you sleep. This is what I do with large game downloads.
