I'm very aware of the problems that the 360 had.

Does that mean I should not have issues with problems the Xbox One has?

No of course it doesn't. The Xbox One is a great games console but it isn't perfect. I just don't understand why discussing the things you don't like is wrong to some people.

  2. 1. They rushed it to the market because they wasn't ready for Sony and PS4.

    2. Don Mattrick was the head of MS when XBOne was announced shortly after launch he left. Not the smartest move by a company. Would of been better for MS to have restructured the company before launching a product. It was a chaotic time for the
company and MS infrastructure was in a complete mess.

    3. MS has it's fingers into too many pies, it should concentrate on what it does best.

    @Vaynel,

Have you read the terms and conditions? (I haven't) but I very much doubt you own it, you likely own the right to stream it or view it.

Your not buying a DVD, and I am pretty sure there is software about that will allow you to copy them just fine.

If you to download it and you know you can't, buy it from elsewhere, simples.

The service isn't design to be used offline.

These products might not be designed around you, that doesn't make them a step backwards.

"I just don't understand why discussing the things you don't like is wrong to some people."

You should know by now that debating the issues of the X1 here is completely futile. haha

  5. Yet it is on the 360 and Windows 8.

So why the change on the Xbox One? What makes One users so untrustworthy as to not be allowed offline use of their video purchases?

If this isn't a step-backward by means of lack of functionality, what would you describe it as? Both the 360 and Windows 8 versions of Xbox Video allow streaming AND downloading.

This is something I am swiftly learning.

Assuming we are talking Xbox video:

*Broadband internet and account on Xbox required. Xbox Video app available on Windows 8 PCs and tablets, and Windows Phone 8. On Xbox One and XboxVideo.com, Xbox Video is streaming only. XboxVideo.com requires Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or Mac OS 10.6.8+ with Safari
5.1+. On Windows Phone, downloading requires Wi-Fi and a power source. Content use restrictions apply.

that says its design to be streamed.

The change is because xbox one was designed with the intention of it always being online, if that is the case you don't need to download.

If you don't debate xbox stuff, I don't learn anything, I thought it was a friendly discussion, maybe I should add more smilies. (although I agree this isn't going to change anything)

  7. The Xbox One was designed with the intention of being always online. Then they changed that design.

Surely then it is not unreasonable to expect the other functions to follow suit, to follow that design change.

I honestly don't see how anyone can take a look at Xbox Video and think the lack of the option to download the video is anything but a step backwards. Surely this should be my choice, to stream or download, as it is on the 360 and my PC.

Sorry if I am sounding harsh, this is a friendly discussion as far as I am concerned.

What went wrong from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox one?

I don't think its a step backwards per say, but I don't disagree that the option is nice for download, I certainly like the option on iplayer (although I only download them because its portable, my xbox is always online (well sort of), and isn't portable)

The problem is the tech industry thinks everyone is online with every device, I am still on pay as you go on mobiles, so most apps I can't use outside the house.

If you always had access to it without downloading it, it wouldn't be backwards, is my point, but its not a perfect world.

I also don't think they changed the xbox vision from being always online, I think they reverse policies to keep the press happy, but I think there vision will still follow the online for the future.

I would like my voice messaging back so that I can get my cherry from Daveyboy. He probably owes like 4k+ peps from the official feedback site a cherry and if and when Microsoft adds this Xbox Live Feature. I've had ideas about Xbox 1's Dashboard UI. Mid
to late last year I did a speed comparison (navigation with the controller) between the Xbox 360's awesome UI, and Xbox 1, on Youtube titled Why I like the Xbox 360 UI.

When I joined Xbox late 2010, I was overwhelmed with all the Xbox Live Features and the service of it. When Xbox 1 came out, ouch, it missed a lot of the things 360 had, I could write a long list of all the features it missed at launched. But today, that
    list is smaller.

Things like coding the Dashboard so it doesn't scream Windows 8 all over me, programming the Dashboard so that it doesn't require you to hard reset your console so often what many peps who have the console have done it's meant to be able to "multitask" and
the hardware is capable. It's either a software thing or a hardware thing and since Xbox 1 has better processing power and a lot more ram than it's predecessor. Hardware won't function with a poor operating system. My previous PC ran on Windows Vista. Arg...
that was a poor OS. I have an HP Pavilion dv6 with intel core i5 and Windows 7, and the OS is MUCH better and the system performs much better. Fixing Party Chat so that it functions like Xbox 360's Xbox Live Party everyone in the party chat can play different
games and different apps without going off and starting another party if everyone is doing different things, voice messaging so far you can ONLY send txts over Xbox Live and something to keep peps my age entertained. I would also like to be able to access
my friends list messages and profile without it going

    o

loading, loading, on me. Xbox 360's awesomeness UI doesn't do it to me. Sometimes I can joke about it have a laugh, but other times it's just sad. Xbox 1 turns only 14 months old on 22/1/2015. And the console has seen a lot of improvement compared to what
it was like at launch where I probably had to hard reset if everyday ;D - I'm kidding...

Lol I haven't forgotten about that Cherry, I promised I would send a cherry to everyone who asked for voice message back, if and when it comes back.

I am not dissapointed with my xbox one, I know it has issues, but I take the time to understand why there are issues, and don't take things on face value.

I'm not disappointed in Xbox 1 either. I love Xbox that's why I was immature and got it day 1. There's still certain things which need to be ironed out, Dashboard functionality, Parties, Voice Messages, I'd like a chat pad thank you instead of using smart
glass or this thing called a bulky USB keyboard which I need to hunk up to one of the 3 USB ports. But it is a lot better than what it was like at launch. There are some things which can really get me down about it and cause me to write long-ish expressions
    about it.
