What was this? Lag switch or 0 ping? Or cheating?

There is also a story with the ping… if you have a 12 ms compare to one of 225 ms... you kill him before he will be able to see you… Cheating or not cheating ?

Unless you are actively degrading your connection through a "Lag switch", you can't influence ping. So it's not cheating if someone has better/worse ping than you.

You cant cheat on BF3. This game does not work like CoD or Halo. If you really want to test it out, make a lag switch for yourself.

BF3 = Playing on Servers based in set location. All clients connect to Server and have their files verified

CoD = Playing on Player Server. Files don't need to be verified for connections and the Host has advantage w/ 0 ping.

I wanted to explain something more, and too late to edit.

Lag comp is based on pings ( at leats from what I understand ) Pings are how fast tyour data can travel, bandwidth is how much data can travel at once. It isnt the bandwidth useage that would make streaming effective, its the bottlenecking ( or traffic
jams) by the high bandwidth useage .... essentially making the data flow in spurts instead of evenly thus slowing pings.

the spurts would simulate rapidly connecting and disconnecting ..... basically what a lag switcher does. The big difference would be that lag switching would be controlled to happen at convenient times. streaning would just cause a smaller version the whole
match.

If you search lag switching, a lot of places recommed streaming as a less effective but easier method of lag switching..

Lag can sometimes be misunderstood as cheating. Wonder why dice hasn't given us acess to player ping?
