What version of XBOX 360 is the best...safest?

Looking to buy a used second 360 for my daughter but with all the different models, not sure which is best, just get an "E" the newest?

She wants the halo 3 limited green model but it is kind of old and I am not sure

what you say is true, the OP was still only referring to the Steam version of Dead Island, not the 360 version. That is what I was addressing.

 

Trade in value for MW3 and BF3?

Amazon.com is offering $31.05 for an Xbox 360 version of MW3 and $22.95 for an Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3. I'm not sure what GameStop is offering but it should be around the same price.

 

I would always opt for a slim model as they are much more reliable.

I would also try not to buy second hand, as the console could already be banned.

Some of the newer "E" models do not have hard drives included, be sure to check before purchase.

I would presume by 'banned' you mean from 'live' ? If that's the case, it would be well worth while seeing it fully in action prior to buying

 

Yes, a console banned from live will never be able to be used online, even if your account is perfectly fine.

A banned console will still work offline, but will give you a warning notice if you try to go online with it.

It is always a risk buying a used console on auction sites.

 

I guess adding to Owen's advice, most models of the 360 will have a version that comes without a hard drive so yeah, definitely pick one up that includes it.

I've owned every model of 360, from the very first white ones, first black elites, limited edition GoW console, normal black slim and most recently the E model and I have to say the E is by far the best. It's really small even compared to the regular slim,
super quiet and just hasn't missed a beat since buying it.

Don't get the Halo console as that will no doubt fail in time.

 

Avoid the old fat models like the plague ALL OF THEM , they are all garbage even the ones with smaller chips

 

What is the easiest way to tell you are looking at an "E" model?

Go with either slim or the E model as they are basically the same thing, with different look. I would get the E model since it's newer, but a slim would do just fine.

 

I'd say go for either an xbox360 Slim Or Elite. And i recommend you buy a new one as there's a chance the person that used it before you has been console banned meaning what ever profile you use it won't work. The elite does has have some better things over
the slim like a better cooling system but to be honest i don't think it's worth the extra money. And make sure that the xbox360 you do get has the hard drive aswell.

 

The 4GB versions of both the E & S models don`t come with an HDD, although it`s easy enough to purchase one separately.

And as stated above numerous times, it`s worth paying that little bit more for a new console as opposed to a second hand one. No chance of it being XBL banned and it will also come with a warranty.

Very doubtful you would find a new S model anywhere, but the E model is easy to pick up. Basically the same workings as in the S, just in a newly designed casing to mirror the One.

So after all that, personally I would go for a 250GB E.

 

The slim I have has been completely trouble free since I day I bought it a few years back.

 

There are 250GB models out there you just need to know to look for them. Most E or S models are probably 4GB models, but there are ones with 250GB HDD.
