What to do if Upnp isn’t successful

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is what the Xbox console uses to configure the router for multiplayer gaming and chat. If you see "UPnP incorrect" in the Network Settings of the console, first check if your router needs an update.

If the router has the latest update from the manufacturer:
Log in to the router's configuration web page and make sure UPnP is enabled on the router. You'll usually find help with this in the router's manual or on the manufacturer's support site.
Disable UPnP and save the changes.

Restart your console, modem, and router.
Turn UPnP back on and save your changes. If there is a Zero Config option, make sure it is enabled as well.
Restart the modem and router.
Once you've reset your router:

Restart the console.
Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
Check your settings again to make sure the UPnP message is gone.

If UPnP still does not work, or is not supported by your gateway/router, you can also try using the router's DMZ, port forwarding, or port triggering features.

I would reccomend checking your routers security settings and associated user manual. Often times NAT/UPnP settings in your router can restrict connectivity for online gaming.

Sign in to your router's setup webpage, and make sure the router's UPnP setting is turned on. You can usually find first-time help with this in the router manual or on the manufacturer's support site. Restart your console, your modem, and your router.

If UPnP still isn’t working after trying the steps you mentioned, or isn’t supported on your gateway/router, you can also try using the router’s DMZ, or Port Triggering features.

First thing I would do is check to see if your router needs an update. If that's up to date then try the following:

3. Restart your console, your modem, and your router.
4. Turn the UPnP setting back on and save your changes. If there’s a Zero Config setting, make sure that’s turned on as well.
5. Restart your modem and router.

Once you’ve reset your router:

1. Restart your console.
2. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
3. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
4. Check your settings again to make sure the UPnP message is gone.
