*double-facepalm* Dude. Seriously... that analogy is covered in poo flavoured fail.

Sorry for the moronic derailing of the thread OP. My bad. {=D

  2. I always watch video reviews and game play videos to see if it's something I would like. I can usually tell within one second if it's something I would like or not. I definitely don't have to actually play it to be able to tell. If that were the case,
I would have shelled out $5k this year on games.

If the OP likes RPG's I would suggest Dragon Age Inquisition because it's just so well done and fun to play. Never a boring moment. It's really made for a person like me who gets bored very easily.

If you watched a second of ACIV in Abstergo you'd get an FPS view of an office, one second of naval combat, one second of an assassination or free-run gameplay... etc. You could miss the core gameplay. It's all different.

It's not about that. You can do that sure. Dismiss a game by its coverart. But say you're doing that to somebody asking for opinions! It's about recommending or dismissing games somebody is interested in buying. You can say it doesn't look good and you haven't
played it. Not: everything released after I dropped a game in a franchise two years ago -- is all worthless cash-in-ware.

If we all had Kauz's opinion of this crazy "ideology" reviewers wouldn't need advance copies of games to dismiss them or recommend them, because why do they need to eat poo to know something is poo? lol A reviewer could look at a game and say he wouldn't
    eat poo and give the game a 3 out of 5. That's not a recommendation -- that's just ball-locks.

And his analogy doesn't work because he's assuming something is poo because it carries the name of some poo he ate previously. If he'd step closer to take a look he might find it's actually chocolate, that resembles the poo he gorged on earlier. Or not.
S'all more valid than a sweeping dismissal based on experience of eating old poo. Heh ha.

    Poo. I'm deraiIing. Ha.

Imagine that now, no one is allowed to have an Opinion on something unless they try it.

Anyone try eating poo yet? No? Why do people think it's bad then?

For me, it's gotten to the point that I would rather suffer through a session or two of Brink, than grind through useless missions in the Cosmodrome.

I mean there might be 3 or 4 people that still play Brink. In the Ukraine.

You can have any opinion you like, but I'm saying to qualify it. There's a difference between recommending something because you've tried it, and recommending something because it looks like your kind of thing. Dismissing something because you've tried it,
and dismissing something because you had a negative experience with an earlier incarnation of it. lol Incarnation? That right? Whatever.

It could be anything, you could watch the first film in a trilogy, and never watch the other two, but go around saying they're awful, or brilliant. You can have your opinion, for sure... but the person you're recommending the films to might have a different
view of your opinions' validity when you declare you haven't seen the freakin' films. {=D

News flash, my Opinion does not need anyone's approval...

Guess where it gets really crazy, I would say to the OP to try two Games even though I myself have never tried them! I know its like I'm bonkers or something! I can formulate an Opinion both Pro and Con about different things
and I have still yet to try poo to know I wouldn't like it! Its madness I tell you!

  9. Not really a fan of shooters, I only like borderlands, battlefield and halo. I love open world/RPG games. sunset ovverdrive looks like my type of game but I can't ingore the potentially repetitive story

I would go Sunset Overdrive and Dragon Age.

I have Destiny on PS4 and it is a good game but I just can't stand their stance on matchmaking. SO is good, I haven't gotten that into it but so far it seems like a solid play. Much less repetitive than Destiny.

  11. Sunset Overdrive and Dragon Age because they've been the most entertaining games for me this year. You won't regret those purchases!

Are those the only games you're interested in or can we suggest others? I'd say give Shadow of Mordor a go.

I've heard a lot of good things about Sunset Overdrive. It's irreverent, I'm not serious type of gameplay has gotten praise all over the internet and it's a game I look forward to play at some point.

Call it gut feeling, but go for that one.

  14. My girlfriend bought me Shaddow of Mordor, I have; Halo MMC, Grand Theft Auto 5, FIFA 15, Titanfall and Watch Dogs, only played 2% of WD, not yet opened Mordor or Halo MMC. Just want to buy games while the are a littke cheaper after Christmas.

I'm open to other (strong) suggestions

I just got Alien Isolation a week ago on sale for $30 (Digital). Actually my Account had $32 from Xbox Rewards so it was free. If it's still on sale I would say try that. Alien doesn't have anything for "replay" but its pretty
long and so far 100% awesome.

I've heard some gripes (some really stupid ones from Reviews like IGN) that it is "too hard" or "too long". One that was so saddening at the stupidity of Gaming was from IGN saying the Alien did not have any patterns to help the Player predict how to overcome
it at times. When I saw that I was thinking you have to be kidding me.
