So Destiny is out, I'm a big AC fan, always have been, but I can't ignore what ive heard about ACU. I've never played any Dragon Age before, Sunset Overdrive looks like its a fun game but it looks repetative, go here collect this, kill X amount of enemies.
But at the same time it does look fun, never a boring moment. So I now have to choose between ACU, Sunset Overdrive, Dragon Age Inquisition. Is Dragon Age anywhere near as deep as Skyrim or Borderlands in terms of RPG elements?

    :)

If Kauz potentially hasn't played ACIV - Black Flag then he missed the leap and now writes the series off without playing it. Revelations was the only AC cash-in IMO, and I personally think they should have moved on from Ezio after ACII.

You've played ACIV Marwood, you can judge Unity's potential quality better than the guy dismissing it. =) Bugs 'n' all.

Tater has only played Destiny on 360 AFAIA. I'm just going by the cards here.

I'd say slide Destiny farther from the running as that's one they've played so can judge. Otherwise wait for people who've played the games to chime in.

If not, as recommendation threads go, this one is weird, and I'll go ahead and highly recommend you ignore the games you're interested in and wait for Quantum Break as its third level might have a really good moment, and its end credits maybe has an awesome
    song playing. Maybe. {XD

Destiny is boring. The beta put me to sleep.

Sunset Overdrive is awesome. It sounds repetitive, but it's not. It's really fun and I think it's on sale for -50%. The way you move around is really fun. In a strange kind of way, the characters that you meet along the way remind me of DR3.

Despite the issues surrounding AC Unity, it does look decent and I hear most issues have been ironed out.

I've never played DA I, but I hear there is a lot to do. It's not nearly as open world as Skyrim though which kind of puts me off it a little bit.

I would also suggest Far Cry 4. It's one of my all-time favourite games. It's a really good game.

Argontheos, you are correct in that I did not play Black Flag. For me the franchise was already dead and played by the point of AC3 (Connor was the edge of the cliff that said goodbye). If someone truly enjoys AC Games still,
sure then why not try a new one.

Just me but it's not on my list and won't be until it's free with GWG and even then I probably will just DL it and let it get forgotten in time. Jaded? Sure why not, it's what happens when a Franchise plugs a "new" one with a feature or two every year.

Totally understand that Kauz. There are plenty of series' that turned sour for me and I stopped playing. Conor blurred my senses -- no direction, no agency, and no pay-off. The King Washington stuff at least gave him super powers to endear him a little to
    me though. Heh ha.

He was so one dimensional he made Desmond interesting.

But the qualifier would be, "I stopped playing that series at game X so I can't say what it's like now."

You wouldn't recommend a game based on a good one you played a couple of games, and a generation no less, before it. "I highly recommend Turok on 360. it was great on the N64 so... get Turok for sure."

    So it's equally absurd to dismiss a game that way. S'all I'm sayin' broseph. [XD For all I know Unity blows... but I ain't played it so I'll keep schtum. {>.0}

Argontheos, I wouldn't say "equally absurd". It's actually much closer to being plausible given a past history of something being bad, future presentations will be as equally bad.

I've gone against my own gut feeling one too many times and picked up a Game that I knew in the bottom of my heart I should have stayed away. What happens more often then not is burned. Plausibility goes a pretty long way, no one really needs absolutes.

That uh, looked like an absolute to me. I'm saying don't judge something until you've played it. You haven't even played the developers' [hailing from different studios] most recent outings over the past two years on a previous generation console, let alone
the game the OP is interested in on the new generation of consoles.

I prefer phrases like "You're only as good as your last performance." To, "If you sucked a couple of outings ago, you're gonna suck again, even if you didn't in the meantime between sucking back then, and me not seeing your most recent outings, til now,
where I'm saying you suck with my eyes closed on a gut feeling." lol {XD Or something.

If I had to recommend an AC game to a newcomer, it would be ACIV with its absence of Desmond and the introduction of Abstergo Entertainment. [>.o]

When Destiny released, I would have give the thumbs up on this title. After the repetitive grind with little to nothing to show for it, I will not suggest paying full retail for this game. I haven't played Sunset yet, so I have no opinion there. AC BF was
awesome, I got Unity for Christmas, but still haven't played it because I've been playing the hell out of Dragon Age Inquisition.

I guess what I'm saying is, IMO, DA:I is what I would get.

Argo, the above is not an "absolute". Meh either way, nope sorry I don't need to "try it" to know I won't like it. That's an phrase that is simply not true. I don't need to eat poo to know I won't like it.

Now I'm not saying AC is poo but more, as rational creatures with a mind that is capable of judgement of any Content, we don't need to "try it" to know it is not something we would care for. If by all means this is not correct,
have you ever tried eating poo? No? How do you know you wouldn't like it?

Are seriously throwing that out there, man? Possibly the worst analogy ever. Poo. lol And yes, it is an absolute. Suggesting bad, early versions of anything will mean, "future presentations will be as equally bad" is heh-ingly absolute. Go play with an old
iPhone and let me know how awesome it is compared to the current models.

Have you ever taken driving from lessons from somebody who can't drive? Would you skydive under the instruction of somebody who has never skydived? Would you buy a product based on a recommendation of somebody who has never used it? Or avoid a product come
    to that?

All I'm saying is, if you're going to weigh in on something, at least know what you're talking about.

If you have a gut-feeling a game is going to be bad based on experiences on an older game, on an older platform, on an older game-engine, from a different studio, at a different time, before lessons were learned from consumer and critic responses and market
performance across consecutive titles you haven't played...

... with new features and entirely new innovations you haven't experienced [who saw Assassin's Creed being the bringer of intuitive naval combat?] and with features sucking development strength removed [competitive multiplayer] -- I'm saying, it's probs
better to take the high road and admit if you have an opinion on it, it's probably uninformed.

S'worth qualifying that fact when somebody is asking for advice in spending a decent sum of spondooley on a fairly expensive hobby, I think.

    Or y'know...

... not. Whatever. What do I know? I'm just sitting here... eating a poo. Mmm. {XD

lol at the "needing to try" something ideology.

Oh well , to each their own.

Dear OP, I have never tried eating poo but I know I would not enjoy it. This makes my Opinion in regards to eating poo "uninformed" on the topic of eating poo.

looking at OP games vs mine. I would say Dragon Age, Destiny, AC unity, then Sunset. Dragon Age for a style not often played. Then he seem to like shooters so than Destiny. I planning on pick up AC once it drops below $30. And Sunset look a little too silly
and too many explosions for me.
