What the??? Status Code 4099-40A3-1380-0702-C000-0099

OK... I'm a 48 year old professional who takes good care of his electronics and doesn't mess with them - not some wannabe gamer/hacker.

I pulled my x-box 360 out of a closet after having it stored there for a few years and plugged it in. It told me I needed to update my software first. I started the update and then got an error code screen showing me "Status Code 4099-40A3-1380-0702-C000-0099".
I looked this code up and found that my console has been banned for tampering with it. WTF? It's been in a closet for 3+ years and not tampered with at all. It worked fine when I stored it, but why in the *&%$ is Microsoft now banning my device for tampering??

I WAS going to go out and grab a new xbox One at some point, but figured I'd fire up my old one first to see how much I'd use it to justify it. Holy crap, I'm glad I waited to shell out cash to MS. There is NO WAY I'd ever purchase
another xbox if they can ban your device for no justifiable reason. If they do this crap to consoles, why on earth would I grab a MS phone for my next cellphone? Sorry.. but this really irks me.

I need to know if/how I can get my device unbanned. It's never been hacked - I could care less to open it up in any way, and I'm not stupid enough to run some shady 3rd party software.

Someone please take a look at my account and let me know what the hell is going on. I asked about this before and someone looked it up and said "you aren't banned'... and left it at that. Guess what... my device is showing the error, so thus it is a frakking

I've read horror stories about this code, but 99% of them are probably justified from dumb kids doing stupid things. But that's not me. I truly hope there is a resolution to this and not some 1 sentence reply with no assistance. Otherwise, I'll just move
on to another platform and toss MS from anything/everything.
