    i will start with this: i have been a developer and a customer for over 25 years.

    in the last few years i find that i am less and less inclined to buy or recommend Microsoft products and services as the company seems to have lost touch with the community of users.

    i have an xbox one , i had the xbox 360 in the past. i can find no good reason for me to buy the next generation console as i see such as lack of decent support for the one i have.

    currently my ota tuner works fine but the xbox live guide data has again stopped working.

    my self and others keep reporting this and yet it keeps happening over and over.

    i can not find any way to check on this in the xbox live status page.... no way to verify the data feed is up or down. no way to test it.

    i cant find a way to get a live chat for this problem..... so possibly i will buy a different box to do my tv and gaming needs and forget about this ....

    third the old thread was posted to by me. i pulled it up as it was the problem i have and it was locked. so how can we both report a problem and not start new threads if the threads are locked?
    Even though the thread may still be the same problem, if it hasn't been posted in for over a month it's considered an old thread. Bumping of old threads violates the

    forum guidelines
    . Things may have also changed in the course of that time that would change troubleshooting. In that event, we do prefer that you start a new thread. It also helps you as there are a lot of people who don't read the responses to the thread
    and may not actually respond to your issue.

    first, i had already read the article and done what it said. no change.

    second while i said a few things i was not saying anything with foul language or bad for children.

    third the old thread was posted to by me. i pulled it up as it was the problem i have and it was locked. so how can we both report a problem and not start new threads if the threads are locked?

    so all in all you have given no help and told me to stop posting, so this is why i am less and less a fan of microsoft.

    I wouldn't listen to any of the nonsense replies you get from Microsoft's customer service. You're better off not buying their products. They hide behind a digital wall which allows them to mistreat customers.

    The customer service is simply terrible. Don't expect anything from them. You have to go through so many loops to even try to get help.

    Their policy is a flat "no" for 99% of requests. They try to silence it too. I avoid buying their products now. And I was a long time customer as well.

    problem is that this happens over and over. same problem and there seems to be two problems one is that the client app will stop getting new guide data and the user has to re-start the updates manually by clearing the guide. but also a second problem is
    that even if the user clears the client the data still may not get any data.

    in the client app there should be a way to check the guide data feed, see a date of last update and other info to help diagnose the problem.
