What The He__ u do to youtube and why.

I'D just like to say What the heck did you do to youtube and why , i come home from work to wactch a music video like i like to do , and it updates , now i cant find anything i used to watch, its like they programmed it to not understand what your looking
for any more. you type something in search and it goes were it wants, even if you typed it the way you did before its like ,the computer got ***. i hate it . put it back to the way it was. i will not spend another min. there again until u do.i really didnt
appreciate coming home to 45 min of trying to find 1 fing video.

YouTube on 360 says unable to load channel. Please help!

Update, I spoke with one of the Xbox help people, and we figured out it was a problem that multiple people were having, that it stems from the YouTube side of things not Xbox, and that I should find a way to contact YouTube if I wanted
a better workaround, so what I want to know is, how do I contact YouTube?

Everthing has been changed and become a bit confusing. I hope they see our input and bring back the HD indicators and controls that were used to.

 

they have changed the menus to make them on xbox 360 look like they do on other TV devices like blu ray players . used this on my blu ray player since last summer and still hate these menus with a passion .

the worst thing being the fast forward to a part of a video by increments of 10 seconds only . this is the most idiotic thing they could have thought of .

 

I agree, I've tried giving the new interface a shot but, the old interface was way more user friendly. I loved being able to go to my recent search history, which seems to be an absent feature in the new version, it was just so easy to get to my favorite
channels. I assume that by sincing with my youtube account, through the PC or mobile device, it might help with some of my concerns, but If I was going to do so I might as well be watching youtube on one of those devices. I hope youtube takes our views into
account, when they hopefully realize the grief they're causing gamers, and take action on creating a more console friendly experience.

 

All of the videos in my playlists don't show up, I can't search videos by upload date or anything, going to my subscriptions channels is non-existent; hell, everything is just one confusing mess. Oh and the watch history only updates when you watch videos
from the PC.

 

Also you have to watch some ads now. No more cancel ad in 5 seconds. Also every video I have watched since the "update" has stuttered. pauses for a second every 5 seconds. Never did that before. make this "downgrade" optional, don't force it down our throats.
Not watchable anymore.

 

Yup Reganitis, I'm having the studdering/dropped framerate on ocassion or the rare glitch in the audio too, with this update. Another prob is some videos that I watched in HD days ago now drop to lower res while other videos seem unaffected.

I think one of the problems on the Xbox's version of Youtube is also how it automatically selects from one of the 4 resolution settings; 320, 480, 720, 1080HD. Youtube seems to do this by judging both the video's native resolution or bit depth, AND the
XBox's local internet connection speed. Youtube should do away with the part of the auto resolution that judges based on videos' native res, because it appears prone to misjudging. If a video contains still images or foggy or strobed scenes, it thinks the
resolution is low and drops into 720 even though the video is supposed to be 1080 HD. It should be redesigned to never drop out of HD unless the connection speed can't support it.

 

I completely agree with the thread starter. This is why I came to this forum to express my feelings how disgusting and useless this application became. It looks like a messy Google/Android application. I really can't find anything.

I used to use the recommendation section of the old application a lot. It was really useful. Now it's all messed out all around.

And I used voice commands. Now I even don't know they exist.

And I'm not sure Kinect even works.

Not speaking of there is no way to add a video to a playlist and if I "like it" it doesn't come to my favorites anymore.

YouTube was one of my major use of Xbox together with Plex. But now that YouTube app became this piece of sh** I really don't see any use of Xbox for me. I rather connect my computer to the TV.

 

I would log on to Youtube and go right over to my subscriptions and check out what was new. I loved scrolling through each channel.... now it s #$(%ing mess.

I'm switching over to using YouTube through Kodi. I really can't stand all the clicking and blooping the ap does.... oh good you can turn off those annoying noises.... ok I swear the last made less annoying noises because now I feel like something i smissing.

This is just a cluttered mess.

The last one had a decent random nice graphic blurred in the background and this has some low def black pixelization. This is about the most down graded I've ever seen an ap go.

 

My problem is not searching with the new Youtube app, its the interface all together that is huge step backwards from the previous Youtube app. The 360 Youtube app is now worse than the PS3 Youtube app.

The change has completely broke the functionality I had with the Xbox 360 universal remote control. None of the buttons on the remote correspond correctly now.

None of the HD videos playback at HD now, they are all playing at the default 320p resolution that I seen the Youtube website default to now, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to change the quality on the new Youtube app for 360 either. I even checked
and confirmed this buy enabling the Show video info in Settings, and speaking of Settings:

I don't like how the Youtube Settings is now buried all the way at the bottom of the now virtual menu, this is unacceptable, it takes a good minute now to scroll all the way down to the bottom past all the Youtube options and subscriptions to get to Settings.

Why is Google and Microsoft forcing this change? I had no choice but to redownload the Youtube app since they disabled the old Youtube app.

If they are going to make these types of changes at least make sure everything is streamlined because right now, nothing is.

 

I think you're right.... I noticed the audio was sounding a little bit off and the video didn't look as sparkling.

I wont' be using the app anymore... which means turning on my Xbox less.

If PS4 has a good YouTube app. That might be my next gen choice.

 

Does anyone even notice these comments? This last update may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I rarely game on the 360, mostly using it for Youtube and Netflix, mostly Youtube. But now, I might have to try some less frustrating entertainment, like
'finger-knifey'.

 

To answer your question, I don't know if they read user comments. The community of Xbox users often seem more helpful that official staff.

-Rewinding and fastforwarding causes the updated YouTube app to buffer or freeze. We're all experiencing that.

-Video sometimes isn't as clear, and video or audio randomly shudders or lags. We're all experiencing that.

-The video suggestions are nice, but Recently Viewed and other features are either missing or hidden among the app suffering from Andriod-itis. We're all experiencing that.

-There is no indication if videos are HD or not anymore. We're all experience that.
