If you're a hardcore gamer that buys every game that releases, 4TBs of storage and up seems like a good investment over the life span of the console. I think the most I'll ever need is 1.5/2TB.

I'll just be using my leftover SSDs. Right now I have a 500GB Samsung 840 EVO attached. Waiting for them to clear the "Ready to Start" problem before moving over the rest of my titles.

  7. I have an old external HDD that's only the min. size @ 256GB, which I can use, but it'll do just fine for now.

I'm either going to grab 4TB or 3TB. The price difference is not too big between those 2 but man, £90+ for more space. Its a lot :/ I would rather pay for extended Cloud storage if they allowed that.
What's the fastest and largest 2.5" drives at the moment?
Fastest would be a 1TB SSD in a 2.5" enclosure.

Largest would be a portable 2TB HDD. That I'm aware of 2TB is the maximum available capacity for 2.5" HDDs.

I have a few 3TB external drives. Just dont want another power brick in my livingroom. I also have two 2.5 1TB external drives. So I will just use those for the time being.

  11. Whagi, I'd be more than happy to take a few of those external HDDs off of your hands if you want to save the shelf space. What sizes external HDD you getting? ;)

Hooked up a 3TB drive and after moving everything and including the 500GB on the console I've got 2.7TB remaining.

after reflecting on this subject, i have a couple of 2Tb hard drives i'm not using, but i really wonder how much storage i'll need, most multiplayer games are going to have a yearly release and i rarely play the old games once the new one is out, most single
player games i'll only play once or twice, maybe again a few years later, but then there will be games Like Destiny (and i'm guessing The Division) that will be meant to last for several years and adding a lot of content over that time.....

so i really wonder how things will look in 10 years.

To be fair. Its only MP games, and ones i actually play online that stay on my HDD. All others get deleted after finishing them. But its nice to know we can now add more storage if and when needed.
