    What makes a Xbox MVP?

They do things beyond just playing games. Some of the MVPs have created other communities, some have created websites like TrueAchievements, or are involved with charities and things like Gamers Outreach. Things like that.

Information about the MVP award can be found at http://mvp.xbox.com MVPs are people who have gone above and beyond for the community. Reading the profiles of some of the MVPs can help you understand how they've won the award .

Xbox One to launch in 26 new countries this September

They have an MVP type program like MS has but PS MVPs are equivalent to Xbox Ambassadors. One of the mods here is an MVP over there.
