What Kind of Dark Zone Player are You?

Well the last of Beta's have come to an end. Launch is a few weeks away.

I plan on getting the game. It seems like a lot of fun.

One question I'm always coming back to is how to interpret the Dark Zone?

Is this tacked on feature really necessary for the top tier loot?

What kinds of players can we expect there going forward?

During the closed beta most players would act as a fair policing force in the DZ and wouldn't tolerate any kind of rogue players.

During the Open beta, where everyone had access to the game, we had what I would call a rogue state where anything would and often did go.

I think and hope what will be in the final game is a perfect balance of the 2. Where you have factions that will shoot you and even their fellow rogue players to get loot and a group of "police" that feel that the loot you earned is yours and should be
extracted without incident.

This social experiment Ubisoft put in this game is deep. You avoid the rogue players and try to fool them by misdirection of extraction zones by setting off a flare in one and going to another. You get really mad if they kill you and take your loot. But
without them, The Dark zone would be a very boring place. Time will tell if this was a good idea.

Hi there! That is the gamer zone of that particular player. It shows what kind of player you are. There are four zones: Pro, Recreation, Family and Underground. You can set this by scrolling over to Settings, then choosing Profile, then choosing Gamer Zone.

I decided to give the game a pass in the end. I fail to see the point of the DZ in its beta form. There's basically nothing to do, unless you count pinning fanny packs to tether ropes. As a gamer, I have no use for content without purpose. They need
to create some spontaneous group events and quest content within the DZ for it to have any lasting appeal.

Shooting rogues is such a popular activity for one simple reason: it's the only thing to do. Loot for loot's sake isn't my thing, so I'm going to wait a year and see how the endgame pans out. By then it will have an Ultimate Edition on for half price.

 

There were a lot of people in the open beta that weren't in the alpha or closed beta, so a lot of people messing about and testing stuff, it will play fairly differently in the real game, and it won't be the only way to get top tear loot, you will be able
to craft it at the very least, even if there isn't a raid.

its impossible to say what kind of player I will be when the game launches since we have no idea what the content is, or how it will work, but it will partly depend on who I am playing with as well.

The DZ is a bit like that!

The good guys live and let live meaning everyone gets there gear. The greedy players go rogue killing other players and take the lot. The really greedy players decide to kill each other until a stronger group come along and finishes them off lol!!!

I didn't even bother entering the DZ in the open beta. What's the point? I still feel the game is a little bit empty, very playable when things are happening, but there are so many expanses of space when travelling in between missions/extractions etc and
a couple of enemies in between doesn't constitute as a firefight! Still looks very easy on the eye.

Boomerang have sent me Far Cry Primal so hopefully I can finish that, send it back and have The Division sent out before the 8th! If not, I'll be checking forums for feedback before I risk buying a game with a potential short lifespan.

 

For me it's more about missions,tasks and random events.

Looking for fancy loots doesn't really matter.

The main cool thing about DZ,is that it's the only place that feels social and alive.(which is what The Division is suppose to be,in the first place).

I guess,i will be able to spend around 100 hour doing missions and exploring,for a $ 60 game it's not that bad.....

 

One that wont me enetering the DZ much as it is. Its flawed big time. PVE still seems solid and should have value for $

 

its nice to see people saying they will play it because of X, and not saying they won't buy it because its not what they want.

Gear matters to a point, it will certainly make things easier, but its not the be all and end all.

I would love to know why you think the DZ is flawed?

 

in the beta i was one of the people who consistantly went rogue because of boredom.. if there isnt enough content in the main release we could see more of the same

 

I got killed by an npc and lost my loot then returning to the spot I find my loot(2 blues) gone and a lonely agent in the building only to kill him and he drops one green mod.

That makes me a sad and guilty DZ player.

Dieing in the DZ you loose more than loot, you loose DZ XP, DZ Cash and DZ keys, no matter who kills you, I was watching King Gothalion on Sunday play the DZ he got killed and lost 1000 DZ credits thats a lot of cash.

I will play the DZ to get what I want, that will depend on so many things we just don't know about yet.
