Party chat killed it for me. It's a great feature but all you get in games now is the guy screaming the N word, some other guy blasting his music so everyone can hear it.. and sometimes someone arguing with their mom.

Every one used to talk in games, around CoD4 & Halo 3.. You'd meet people, play with them, go do custom games and have fun. Now that's all gone.

Party chat killed it for me too. It was so much better before that.

5. I'll play in game chat if there are reasonable people to talk to but at this point the only people I really run into in game chat are people with their tvs or music turned up way too loud or just overall obnoxious people. I've run into a few people that
were fun to talk to recently like in BF4 on X1 but that was about a month ago.
Does anyone know of any online gaming system or games (xbox, ps4, pc) where you can have non-party chat and the ability for hosts to boot horrible players?
PC would probably be your best place to find stuff like that.

6. BF3 rented server with admins that required VOIP and team chat enabled. Some random conversation would happen, but most players were focused on the game. Was better than the PC version where most people are on Teamspeak or Ventrilo which is like the Party
Chat of PC.

Honestly before party chat though most in game chat had nothing to do with game. Was random conversations or the couple loudest people in the game arguing. Really games need to adapt to Live and show who's together in parties on scoreboards and lobbies.
Shame so few games even let you know other players are in party chat. In Halo and COD when I would see people in parties I would ask for invites and normally get in with a group. Before that it was the lobby system in Rainbow Six Vegas and Left 4 Dead where
I found most people since someone had the power to kick out people and chose the game mode and map. A good host made a world of difference in keeping the game interesting and everyone happy.

Another thing I think would be great would be a Live! wide lobby system. Create a lobby with a custom name, what game you want to play, and what you want to do before you even start the game. This used to be so popular way back on PC.
That people rate you is the key thing.

Honestly, hand on heart, how often do you file a positive review on a player. I'm willing to bet it is a very small fraction of how many negative reviews you file.

The system will work but not how Microsoft intended. The good players will be in the 'bad' lobbies and the bad players will be in the 'good' lobbies.

I use party chat sometimes, and like it, but it has definitely made it hard to meet people on Xbox Live. I've met maybe a handful of people on Live that I enjoy talking to/playing with in the past year, or two. If people in multiplayer games could tell who
had a mic, and would actually invite them to their party, it wouldn't be such a problem, I think. Oh well.

Its to many kids on live now playing M rated games. MS needs to fix this. Also people that are immature and that their parents never took the time to teach them about being polite.

12. I never use the mic unless my friends invite me to a party. Party chat (debilitating as it may be) makes gaming more pleasant, I only hear the people I deem worth hearing.

Yep UnyoBro you hit the head of the nail when you say People will still abuse it. I have 5% on agressive behavior when I dont run and gun I camp on cod and im in party chat for the most part. 41% on unsporting and 7% on quit early which I have never backed
out. Now I might have lost internet due to a isp issue like nat error but never backed out of a game. I got 14% on trash talk which I do and most people do also but I over look that. The 41% for unsporting which I looked up does not include camping which is
why I have so much on that it is not against the rules or laws or tos of MS or the game company. They were just soar losers that lost. I play with disable veterns and we have a game plan when we play. So now the system on xbox one will hurt a good player than
a bad one. Not sure if it goes with 360.

Some people really kid themselves in here. Party chat is used BECAUSE people don't want to be on general chat anymore. If general chat was so great (and didn't eat it's own tail) people would still be more than happy to use it. In a nutshell, if party chat
WASN'T available, the mic wouldn't get used at all.

I like it the way it is at the moment. The reason I dont like games were the host can kick people is because they can abuse their power by kicking anyone for no reason. Left 4 Dead has a vote to kick and is abused by clans if you join a game you get booted
as soon as you join.
