What is your "Greatest Game series" that you've played so far?

Been thinking about it and just can't decide.

due to the sheer amount of hours I've lost playing and pure enjoyment, It has to be both The Elder Scrolls & Fallout.

 

Call of Duty:

Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty: World at War

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Black ops

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Black ops 2

Call of Duty: Ghosts

The series could have ended after Modern Warfare 2 and it would have been my #1 series. Have the games become a little repetitive over time? Sure, but I still put over ten days played into MW3, blops 2 and ghost. Call of Duty 4 is at about 45, WaW is
around 20 days, not including zombies, and mw2 was around 20.

I had a ton of fun with the early campaigns. They were short and to the point cinematic adventures. Ranging from storming the beach in call of duty 2 to burning commies out of banzai trees to 'the mile high club'

I have a ton of fond memories in co-op game modes. Reigning fire from an ac130 while your buddy is running scared on the ground in co-op spec ops, killing aliens in extinction...and don't get me started on zombies. It could be its own standalone game at
this point.

I understand why gamers who aren't heavily in to shooters wouldn't put this in the top. I can even understand those who have grown tired of the formula. But think back to the first two or three call of duties you bought. Midnight releases, race to max
prestige, the first time you played zombies, learning all the new maps, guns, killstreaks and perk systems. Alot of people have had a lot of fun in these games. It undoubtedly deserves to be in the goat discussion. People hate on the simplicity of the game,
but that is what makes it great.

"Series Fatigue" is a horrible thing indeed. It is truly sad to watch a series that you love go down hill

"The Elder Scrolls".

"Morrowind: Game Of The Year Edition" remains arguably the greatest game ever released to date and they still managed to up their game with "Oblivion" and "Skyrim".

 

My fave is either Silent Hill or Resident Evil (the racoon saga).

Though Halo and a few others do come in at a very close run up.

 

For an entire series I'd have to go with Onimusha. I can never just a pick a game out of it and play it even though I have a favorite one in the series. I always go from Onimusha 1 to Dawn of Dreams. ALL other games and systems are neglected until I'm finished.

 

Mass Effect is my favorite.

Gears is up there as well.

Halo is another series I like.

I have read books from these series as well as played the games and really got into them.

 

Advance Wars, Final Fantasy, Disgaea, Metroid and Mario spring to mind (amongst others).
