    try uninstalling the app and redownloading it, might just be a small bug.

    clearing your system cache may also help.

    Why does Youtube search on the dashboard suck so horribly bad?

    There's nothing wrong with the Youtube search function. Press Y, start entering what you're looking for, and predictive text does the rest. Don't like it, use a computer.
